A Significant Day For Silver

Tue, Jul 3, 2012 - 12:12pm

Just a few things before I take some time away.

Tomorrow is Independence Day here in America. The markets will all be closed. I will be traveling and out of action until mid-day on Thursday. With that, here are a few things to ponder.

Today's move in silver is potentially quite significant. On the surface, it's just a 3% short squeeze. However, take a look at these long-term charts. Silver has been following the downtrend line from the Leap Day highs for over 4 months. Today, it broke out. Do you recall a few days ago when I mentioned that you should beware of "descending triangles"? They are a bit of an optical illusion as the diagonal line always seems to look more powerful than the horizontal line. In this case, though, the horizontal line connects multiple bottoms and goes back over 9 months, or about twice the duration of the diagonal line. The idea that price would break UP and not down should NOT be surprising. Now, before we get excited, it's only one day. Silver needs to confirm the breakout by not only holding its gains but advancing further. A move through $29 would be great and set up a move back toward $29.50. Then, IF we can get a lousy NFP number on Friday, the stage will be set for a run at $30 and the buy stops set above there.

Of course, silver is getting a shove, too, from some powerful action in the grains and in crude. Keep an eye on crude, by the way. Tensions are heating up again in The Gulf and a move through 88 and then 90 would likely signal a run back toward 100.

The gold chart looks solid, too. I expected some Cartel capping above 1620 and we got it today. That's OK. It is what it is. Let's see what we can do tomorrow without Comex interference. Thursday will be a setup day for Friday and Friday, IF THE BLSBS IS LOUSY, could be a tremendously significant day.

A couple more things. First, if you haven't yet done so, take some time over the holiday to listen to this BBC radio piece regarding a return to "the gold standard". A very interesting discussion.

I did an interview yesterday with The Doc at SilverDoctors. He hasn't posted it yet but I suppose he will over the next few hours. You'll be able to find it here: https://www.silverdoctors.com/ though I imagine someone will also post a link into the comments section of this thread.

Lastly, our good pal "Fortinbras" informed us today of the death of one of his good friends earlier this week in Afghanistan. As you celebrate and relax over the next 2 days, you might send out a prayer for "Dids" and his family. Below is a picture of him, relaxing with a cold one, taken about two years ago. We here at TFMR are always grateful to those willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and, clearly, this one hits pretty close to home.

I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing, mid-week vacation. See you Thursday.

Please keep an eye on this thread. I DO NOT want any bullshit, anti-US or anti-military propaganda to pollute it following the mention of Fortinbras' friend.

Thanks for your help.

Constitutional Money is making its stand here on the day before the last 4th of July ever as we head into the Mayan's End of An Age! I predict a resort back to the Constitution and then beyond as humanity breaks the chains from its ancient banking basturds!!!

The Bankers are Plotting Behind the Scenes But Turd's Army Isn't Thinking In Terms of USD - that's the old paradigm.

Happy Fourth Everyone! Let's Hope We don't get into a war with Iran!

The markets are practically closed, and we are winning! Sit Tight and be Right, as Livermore said!

COMEX Silver Futures Skewed Short, Potentially Explosive

I recommend everyone watch this video regarding the very bullish conditions in silver.

COMEX Silver Futures Skewed Short, Potentially Explosive

HOUSTON – At the request of colleagues we respect and admire* and as a courtesy to our GGR blog readership, we are sharing below the video portion of the full Got Gold Report. We released the report below on Sunday, July 1, to Vultures (Got Gold Report Subscribers).

As we noted in a short note posted on the blog on Friday, the GGRPrivate Video comments on what we viewed as a potential inflection point for the COMEX silver futures market, and “suggests a market skewed short as of Tuesday, June 26, which is contrary bullish and can lead to explosive volatility in our simple way of looking at the COT.” (Commitments of traders reports.)

Strength and Honor my Friends

The end game for this ridiculous price suppression is near... the CoT ratios are aligning with the stars. it's about to get real Dulce in here. Sweet like candy for those who had the cajones to stack at $26. Good luck to everyone and all I can say is-- take what's happened in Washington and Virginia as a warning: IF YOU AREN'T STOCKING CANNED FOOD / SUPPLIES... you are an ignoramus.

Take heed about what is going on in Iran with the military flexing their missile array on "mock-up" foreign military bases. It seems that these psychopathic humans (not the Iranian people, mind you, but their "Generals") are hell bent on causing a lot of pain and suffering for millions. Maybe it is only appropriate that June Gloom 2012 would contain such decimating precursors for... who only knows what? Strength and honor, my friends, and we will all make it through to July 2013.

-Cordially yours,

I am grateful

for all the soldiers in Afghanistan who are helping to end the slavery of the Afghan women and little girls.

We are celebrating the 4th tomorrow. The women and girls in Afghanistan had no one to come to their aid. Their plight was/is a terrible one.

Courageous men like your friend, Fort, truly earn my respect. I am sorry he is gone.

Wise Guy Tom Brokaw On NBC/POLITICO Marriage Merger: 'As if a member of the Gotti family married a member of the Gambino family'

NBC News and POLITICO sanctify the obvious: the Media Families are sleeping together. Mike Allen's POLITICO Playbook gushes:
TOM BROKAW toasted Betsy Fischer, executive producer of "Meet the Press," and Jonathan Martin, POLITICO senior reporter, at their wedding reception last night at the historic Airlie estate in Warrenton, in Virginia Hunt Country: "This is what our life, our culture, our country is all about. We're awakened every day, these days, and reminded about what divides us. But this is what unites us: the idea that two people who care passionately about their country and about the political system that drives it, finding each other, setting out on their married life. ... "I have been thinking about this union of these two most powerful organizations in American political journalism. [Applause] It's ... as if a member of the Gotti family married a member of the Gambino family.
[Laughter, applause] ... Jonathan, ... the bad news is that I think - I'm counting on this - that David Gregory will now start to impersonate YOU at parties instead of me. ... "I want to conclude by giving voice to someone who can't be here - and this is the tough part. And that, of course, is Tim Russert. I'm wearing a TJR tie - we've got the Buffalo Bills, obviously, and Nantucket, and the Capitol. ... I remember the first time he began to tell me about Betsy and what a genius she was, and how much she meant to him. And then we went through the emotional trauma of losing Tim, and Betsy and I formed our own bond. ... Now, if Tim were still with us: He had a little more juice than I do. He probably would have arranged for the Holy Father to bless this. [Applause] I'm just a modest Episcopalian from the prairie. [Laughter] But I do have a couple of religious artifacts that I wanted to share with you. And my partner, Meredith, will come forward with them now. ... This is highly unusual: Meredith and I have been married 50 years. She's never held a microphone for me before. These are Buffalo Bills jerseys, with Betsy, #1, and Jonathan, #1. Tim would think of these as religious artifacts." [Applause] JONATHAN: "On behalf Betsy and I, ... we want to honor our parents and our grandparents, who couldn't be here, but who have meant a lot in the lives of both of us. And we also want to keep in mind that this is an important weekend. Tomorrow is Memorial Day. So we also want to honor our veterans, and those who are fallen." Newsweek ex-editor Jon Meacham (and frequent MSNBC Morning Joe talking head) who gave the opening prayer, presents Jonathan with his wedding present: the Super Big Gulp cup (or "the Holy Grail," as the renowned editor put it) that JMart had spotted Meacham buying in Gainesville on Saturday, prompting 40 emails from Playbookers. Meacham told us: "This is one of the benefits of having won the Cold War - being able to buy a Super Big Gulp in freedom."

Getting very very close

like peckerwood said were talking about the head of the beast here, you can see it everywhere. Think back to the past few months worth of news, the amount of bitching about policies and increased interests in PM and other manipulations has rose heavily in my opinion. I think now people are actually starting to realize that governments are only in it for themselves. The election this year has so far been a complete joke, it is no longer what the candidate will do for the country but a game of sorry and who can knock the other back to start the most. Wait till the majority gives up on big brother and we start fighting our own battles and looking after ourselves, that will be the final battle with the beast...

Mali Shrine destroyed

By F. Brinley Bruton and news services

World cultural body UNESCO was set to create a special fund to protect Mali's heritage on Tuesday after al-Qaida-linked Islamists attacked historic and religious landmarks in the city of Timbuktu for a third day, breaking down the door to a 15th century mosque that -- according to legend -- had to remain shut until the end of the world.

Somehow that just seems to beg the question. Was this a good idea?

My condolences to bibs friends and family, rest in peace young man!

A Significant Day For Silver and...

...biofuel. Fill er' up.

The Navy is steaming ahead with an initiative to power ships with biofuel, despite criticism the so-called “green fuel” costs nearly seven times more than conventional fuel.

This month marks the first time the Navy is using biofuel in an operational setting -- sending five ships to a multi-nation exercise off the coast of Hawaii.

A Navy official told FoxNews.com on Monday that sailing the so-called “Great Green Fleet” this month on the 50-50 blend of alternative and conventional fuel is part of Navy Secretary Ray Mabus’ plan to have half the Navy fleet on alternative fuel by 2020.

The spokesman also confirmed the fuel -- which does not require engine modifications -- costs $26 a gallon compared to $3.60 a gallon for conventional fuel.

However, he pointed out the cost was for a one-day supply and that prices will drop when the Pentagon, among the country’s biggest fuel users, buys more.

Capitol Hill Republicans have been among the biggest critics of the plan -- questioning the fuel's cost and President Obama's alternative-energy initiatives as either not ready or too expensive for the marketplace.

They point to the government-funded Solyndra solar panel company going bankrupt as a cautionary tale.

Rep. Randy Forbes, a Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, is another critic. He argues that studies show biofuel will always be more expensive and accuses Mabus of failing to provide Congress with a full cost analysis, according to Reuters.

The Navy official said, “Investments in biofuel will produce a competitively priced -- and domestically produced -- alternative to conventional fuel. Such investments help the Navy and the nation become less dependent on foreign oil and thus less subject to volatility in oil prices that directly affect our readiness.”

The so-called "drop-in" fuels are derived from seeds, algae and chicken fat.

The collection of Navy ships headed to the Pacific Rim for the six-week exercise this month is known as a carrier strike group -- which includes a destroyer, tanker and an aircraft carrier as its centerpiece.

I first traveled to RSA about 30 years ago and was in a bit of a shock when seeing the dealings of the two white tribes and the many black/colored population as to apartheid. I was just a white Polish man from Washington State who really had very little understanding of their history and could not understand how they arrived in this separated mess. However, I felt quite safe in those days and in all future trips even into the depths of Zululand. When Mandela took over and apartheid was abolished ( needed to happen), the country became unsafe. Many friends of mine have to pack weapons these days to travel anywhere and to protect themselves in their homes. I was talking to a friend, in Richards Bay, on the phone one day as a brick was thrown through his front window.

We have an American apartheid forming in our nation and the rule of law has vanished that would protect the innocent. The evolution from peace and safety to the riots in the streets of the big cities is just ramping up on this independence day. Are we really prepared for a new America ? I saw the video yesterday of the Muslims attacking Christians in Dearborn, Michigan and the rule of law on the side of those who riot and have death in their minds. There is also Don's view from Colorado Gold today which is a trend that will not be stopped ( I will post the link).

Being prepared in the future is much, much more than having a gun, a stack of P.M.s, and a full can house. What event/Force is available to turn this nation into the Wind?? Luke 13: 1-5 jmo

"I don't believe it's the job of the Navy to be involved in building ... new technologies. I don't believe we can afford it," said Arizona Sen. John McCain, the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, according to Reuters.

A lot of useful new technologies have come out of the Pentagon, or NASA. I'm sure you can think of a few if you give it a moment... DARPAnet, for example.

BUT, and this is a big but, there aren't enough seeds, algae extract, or chicken guts out there to equal the millions of barrels we burn every day. Not every new idea is a good one, and not every new technology is going to be a winner. For now and the near future, petroleum is it.

Since it's the Navy, perhaps they could look into wind-power ?
