Article 1. Section 7. Congress shall make any law it pleases, regardless of whether the citizens were lied to, deceived or otherwise misled into supporting its passage.

George and Obama debate health care taxes

The metals are, of course, up against it this morning. If you haven't yet read this (https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/blog/3940/lookout) or this ( https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/blog/3963/lookout-part-ii), please do so immediately. It is looking increasingly likely that the triple bottom in silver will soon fail. IF stops below 26.25 are tripped (maybe on The Globex this afternoon), silver may rapidly descend toward 25 and then continue, over the next couple of weeks, down toward 22 in a final washout move. Please be prepared for this and do not panic if it happens.

Gold is still in its 1530-1630 range but it is, of course, subject to a breakdown, too. Be vigilant.

Hang in there and don't be surprised by anything.

A Good News Take On Today's Ruling

Some of you may be familiar with the book Unintended Consequences by John Ross. The basic premise of the book is the Federal government has been poking at people for so long that they have managed to build a fair sized army among the populace ready to strike back. All it takes is a spark.

In a similar vein there is a website I follow called the Ulsterman Report (UM). Per the mainstream media definitions this site would definitely fall into the conspiracy or nut job category. My definition differs in that if a site breaks news that the mainstream later confirms, if it makes predictions on how coming events are going to turn out, then it is useful and credible. The record is written and posted for comparison to actual events.

True, the sources are anonymous. But given the conditions today, exercising free speech greatly increases the chances of accidents (from plane crashes, hot tub drownings, hit and run by cars or just dropping dead for no descernable reason).

So with that lead in here is a little blurb from UM by a source called White House Insider (a high up political operative in the Democratic party):

https://theulstermanreport.com/2012/06/28/white-house-insider-obamacare-...

WHITE HOUSE INSIDER: OBAMACARE …”Now we are truly ready to fight.”

A longtime D.C. political operative considers today’s Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare a good thing in the fight to defeat Barack Obama in 2012.

Here’s why.

his will be quick. Don’t have time to go over all of this with you right now. Don’t forget the work going on w/Holder.

The Obamacare ruling is good news for us. Real good news. It’s 2010 all over again now. Swing states will shift over to Romney in most cases. Trust me on this. We’ve done the polling. The data is conclusive on this. It’s a huge tax. We got Obama lying. Again.

The Tea Party movement, which was as real and powerful a political movement as I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, is back in play. That scares the hell out of the Obama White House. You just got a bunch of Dems sweating hard over their re-election. The Republican Party will now be a lot more focused and clearly conservative and that’s exactly what they need to be this time around. We must make the election a clear divide between one side and the other and this Obamacare ruling has forced that to happen.

And the initial reports I’m getting are telling me there was a lot more clever going on inside that decision than the initial reaction will indicate. It’s the Obama Tax now. And states were given an out. The entire law is a big ass convoluted mess and the ruling has reinforced that fact. Obama will have to defend something he doesn’t understand, and Romney can now sit back and just repeat over and over again “repeal-repeal-repeal”.

You can call bullsh-t on me here and I’ll understand if you do but I’m telling you right up this ruling today is GOOD NEWS. Politically, as a motivator, it’s great news. Watch contributions toward Republicans jump up even more than they already were. Watch the Obama White House have to face very hard questions over the Obamacare tax issue. Watch states rise up to challenge the administration using the weapon the Supreme Court placed in their hands to do so. Watch the Tea Party come back stronger and more powerful than ever.

The giant has woken up. Country needed a hard kick in the ass to remind us what is at stake in November. Now we are truly ready to fight.

Last thing. Romney was preparing for this decision. He gets to go with the better script now. He’s coming out swinging hard on this one.

Chin up. Fists clenched. Eyes open.

Let’s roll.

This does not mean the Republic is saved. My basic take is the liberal Dems have overreached and the blowback is going to be a bitch. Which has the downside of putting the O-man in a tight corner and it is not like he has any scruples to hold him back.

Still I thought it worth sharing as a good news take (for the future) on an otherwise less than stellar day. The record is there for review, a lot of it is not pretty.

go green/bankrupt

A Colorado-based solar panel maker that received a $400 million loan guarantee from the Obama administration is set to file for bankruptcy, the latest setback for an industry battered by the recession and stiff competition from companies in China. Abound Solar of Loveland, Colo., said Thursday it will suspend operations and file for bankruptcy next week, after talks with potential buyers broke down. The company received about $70 million from the Energy Department before officials froze its credit line last year.

@Hrunner

You asked, so I will give a bit of my personal philosophy.

I lost faith in the upholding of constitutional principles when I read the opinions of Justices Brennan, Warren, Marshall, et al. in law school. Those opinions are classic, not for what widsom comes from them, but from the complete and utter bullshi- that those classic liberals posited came out of the constitution.

I long for limited government. I long for part-time legislators. I long for Senators to be appointed by the individual states, and not popularly elected.

I long for a state to declare its own superior sovereignty , to tell the fed govt, fine, we don't need your handouts, and likewise, we are not taking our state citizen's hard-earned wealth and turning it over to a bunch of spenders.

Will that ever happen? Doubtful.

Thus, we live in an era of big government. Keynesianism rules the day, sadly.

When will it change? Collapse is the only way, with the ensuing disgust, and the seared memory permanently etched in the populace, which reminds them "never again."

Until then, we live with the govt promising handouts to the majority, who keep voting for more.

Mandate

Unlike auto insurance, which I must buy, being forced to buy health insurance from a cartel that cannot sell the same policy in two different states, that includes the equivalent of oil, gas, and tires on my auto insurance (maintenance and consumables), is like deciding which person in the firing squad gets the real bullet. A bad outcome either way.

The wealth doesn't exist to spend $10,000 a year on every US citizen on top of 30,000,000 illegals. Greece essentially had to throw their old and sick under the bus when the IMF told them how much of GDP they could spend on medical care. It will happen here, just wait.

Appreciate the words and your position. I think we need to keep pressing at the ballot box, and at posting box.

FYI, Mark Levine on live stream is making couple of points about why Roberts opinion is "stupid".

1- Under Article 1, the taxes that Congress is allow to levy are

Capitated or 'head' tax- not used due to clumsy implementation problems

Income tax- Obamacare clearly not,

Excise tax- requires activity, again ACA clearly not

2- He calls it a tax to invoke the taxing clause, but then says its not a tax to avoid the Anti-injunction issue

From the ruling

"The Affordable Care Act does not require that the penalty for failing to comply with the individual mandate betreated as a tax for purposes of the Anti-Injunction Act.The Anti-Injunction Act therefore does not apply to this suit, and we may proceed to the merits. "

Seems very duplicitous to me, like someone is trying to twist themselves away from the truth.

Re: It's Fascism, not Socialism

Nice try, but completely false.

In Fascism politics rules. It's called primacy of politics. Not bankers are making the laws, but the authority which is visible.

The system in the western world therefore is something completely different: in our system HIDDEN forces rule. Politicians are actors, playing roles for the sheeple. They don't mean what they say and they don't do what they promise!

The real power in this system is the power of money. It's the Money Masters that rule in this system, most you call "Democracy". But it's not a Democracy, because not the people are ruling. It's a PLUTOCRACY.

And those who are calling this system a socialistic system also are completely falling victim to the disinformation of the money masters:

Socialism is about sharing the profits, and not privatizing the profits and sharing the losses!

And this system is also not Capitalism. Because Capitalism means losses are private and are not socialized!

Do you recognzie, how they cheat you? Socialists VS Capitalists. Liberals VS Conservatives. Occupy VS Tea Party.

And nobody here who unites you, raises his hand and targets with the finger on them! And why is that? Because their mass media immediately destroy every honest politician, who does not play the divide and conquer game, but who UNITES the people!

And that this never can happen again, they invented the multicultural society. In such societies it is IMPOSSIBLE that all ethnic groups can form a single will.

It's PLUTOCRACY, stupid!

The hidden regime of big money and interest slavery.

A system where the money masters rule, where they pay all parties and where their lobbies make their laws, no matter which party is forming the government.

The PLUTOCRATIC system has one special vehicle, that allows them to operate: They call it "Democracy". Although a democracy never existed, they were successful in propagating this fata morgana. In a "Democracy" the sheeple are happy, if they are allowed to vote. But who can be elected do not decide the people, although they believe it! It's the mass media, the media they posses or they control, directly or indirectly, that decide if a person is tolerated as politician, or if it will be ignored or destroyed. They decide, who will receive their financial support, if he fits into their concept. If it are republicans, democrats, liberals, greens, chauvinists does not matter. Every politician, that turns out to be a real danger, will be destroyed in their media.

The best guide to recognize, who is good for the people and who is good for the money masters is very simple: Ask yourself what are the forces they fear most? Listen, what are the political forces the media hate? But NOT one media, while the other media is supporting this person or group! NO! Who is hatred by all of their brainwashing tools in their whole regime?

Then you have a working compass, that will show you at least the right direction.

But you must be prepared to discover shocking realities. You must be prepared to accept, that almost everything they have told you, is not based on truth. Especially about history, wars and leaders.

For example: read Gaddafis Green Book. Or read Hitlers Mein Kampf! They hate it, if you would read it yourself!

Why? Because instead to believe in their propaganda, you would make your own thoughts and maybe real personal judgements, gather knowledge what intelligent persons, real leaders and not paid actors, have to say.

Learn to observe what they love and what they fear. With some experience you will recognize what could be right or wrong. The liberator of your people - will be their worst nightmare. And whom they hate most - is your people's best friend. And usually whom they support and applaude, is poison for your people and fits into their plans.

Here is a first hand account from an EMT friend of mine that just returned from Haiti. Some may find it interesting. James - Hatians do not like the UN in Haiti. They desperately need their help, and do not get it. I am told that Haiti is a training ground for new UN soldiers. They have been known to sexually assault students and mug citizens. They flaunt all their heavy equipment that the country needs to build septic and sewage systems. They brought cholera to the country years ago, and have not helped fix that mess. People die of cholera (a very treatable disease) every time it rains. Long story short the UN is causing more problems than they are solving. Haiti is better off without their presence. -

Auto insurance is NOT a mandate

There are plenty of people in America that have no legal obligation to purchase auto insurance. They opted out by not owning or operating a motor vehicle. This is a straightforward solution if you cannot afford it, or do not want to pay for it: find alternate means of traveling, such as walking, biking, hitchhiking, using public transit, or paying some form of taxi.

The healthcare obamination [sic] prevents you from opting out.

Great article/ Brandon Smith

I've written several posts over the past year (Ameri-skizm and Anthill/Tremors come to mind ) about this very subject that Brandon Smith from Alt-Market (via ZH) and what's coming our way and what is in fact already here. He covers this subject thoroughly and realistically imho.

OWS bore that out to some extent I believe as far as the law enforcement end of it was carried out and the tactics/methods that were used. It served as a live demonstration for the military and police agencies to observe the effects and reactions of the populace locally and on a prolonged and drawn out national level even to today and to test the efficacy of their tactics.

I would anyone to read this and consider it and accept some of the possibilities he see's and that I also think is going on and where were headed. Consider NDAA and what all of that could portend if things were deemed to be in a state of emergency nation wide for whatever reason. I believe we also have cross border military agreements with Canada to help us (and we'll help them) with any civil unrest on a large scale if it ever becomes necessary and they can cross the border to do so. It works both ways I believe. Ask yourself ...why are they prepared to do that and what has changed?

Just about everything has changed and 12 years ago at the dawn of a new century you might not have ever thought it possible we would be thinking of and reading thoughts such as these.

That is an excellent article, albeit chilling.

Americans Are Being Prepared For Full Spectrum Tyranny

Totalitarian governments, like persistent forms of cancer, have latched onto the long history of man, falling and then reemerging from the deep recesses of our cultural biology to wreak havoc upon one unlucky generation to the next. The assumption by most is that these unfortunate empires are the product of bureaucracies gone awry; overtaken by the chaotic maddening hunger for wealth and power, and usually manipulated by the singular ambitions of a mesmerizing dictator. For those of us in the Liberty Movement who are actually educated on the less acknowledged details of history, oligarchy and globalized centralism is much less random than this, and a far more deliberate and devious process than the general unaware public is willing consider.

Unfortunately, the final truth is very complex, even for us…

One cannot place the blame of despotism entirely on the shoulders of globalists. Sadly, the crimes of elites are only possible with a certain amount of complicity from subsections of the populace. Without our penchant for apathy and fear, there can be no control. That is to say, there is no power over us but that which we give away. We pave the road to our own catastrophes.

In the end, a tyrant’s primary job is not to crush the masses and rule out of malevolence, but to obtain the voluntary consent of the citizenry, usually through trickery and deceit. Without the permission of the people, subconscious or otherwise, no tyranny can survive....

The entire system is almost completely FUBAR'd from every angle no matter what side you're on. Things have changed too quickly and too dramatically and there's lots of distortion from what the baselines/'normal' used to be a short 12 years ago.

It's simply messed up, and all of us from both sides (or whatever you may call it) see troublesome issue's and are putting different labels and blame on the same thing we all recognize and don't feel good about.

The rise of corporate fascism in America.

I have to admit that I have been watching the comments on Obama's healthcare policy for some time now without any understanding of what was being proposed. With the outpouring of emotion against this 'socialist' policy I assumed (to my detriment) that this policy was providing healthcare from the direct use of taxation. How wrong was I?

After reading a little on this subject I am astounded to see that this is nothing more than an enforced extension of corporate control over the health of a nation. The people of America have just been bent over with a gun to their head, there will be no lube provided to alleviate the pain.

This policy has been trumpeted as a socialist policy, widely credited to Marxist policies emanating from the current White house squatter. This could not be farther from the truth if you put it on a cruise missile and fired it to Afghanistan.

If we are to understand Marxism as the economic policies of Karl Marx then our point of reference to refute these claims must be Das Kapital.

I do not believe that it is mentioned anywhere in this voluminous diatribe on economic policy that governments should force the populous to reward private, profit seeking companies under the guise of a health policy. The economic ideals of Marx would be diametrically opposed to anything slightly resembling this idealistic health care policy, and let us not be fooled, this is as idealistic as government policy can get. This ideology is not socialism however. This is fascism.

It is difficult to chart the rise of fascism in America. It is possible however to plot the recent ramping up of the policy using an early warning system provided by Dr Lawrence Brit, his 14 early warning signs of fascism are widely regarded as a well researched study of various recent fascist states and their common precursors.

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

There is only one other nation in the world that displays as many flags as America that I have witnessed. Northern Ireland. What is commonly referred to as nationalism in non US states is widely over shadowed by American 'patriotism'.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

CIA rendition of political prisoners to camps in Europe, Africa, Asia and the middle east are well documented.

Guantanamo bay has yet to come to a verdict on any of the prisoners held there after 11 years of incarceration.

Waterboarding, beatings, degradation, sensory depravation have all been practiced by the US when dealing with prisoners supposedly protected by the Geneva convention.

Drone strikes on ‘leaders’ of the enemy force are routine. Current government sanctions more assassinations than any before.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

There are so many ‘enemies’ of the US it has become hard to count them, we can label all these people as ‘terrorists’.(Domestic or international)

4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread

domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

I don’t believe this needs any expansion.

5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

I don’t see any evidence of this in government, it is however prevalent in a large part of the youth. Any visitor to social sites such as 4chan or damnlol will be aware of this, (Tits or gtfo, make me a sandwich bitch etc)

6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Media, well understood to be misleading at best. Corporate control is paramount with regulators infiltrated by corporate lackeys.

7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

No need to expand.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

I’m not sure how much this is understood by the average American but my experience of talking to Americans leads me to believe religion is embedded in the psyche from an early age. This is something we don’t have here in Europe, we are largely secular.

9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

We haven’t seen such an overlap of ‘business’ and government since the East India Company took over the UK government in 1694.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on this but I view America as a nation that breaks unions at every opportunity, the meat packers come to mind. Note the government unions would be protected under a fascist regime.

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

Not sure what to say about this except the level of education I have encountered when talking to American tourists is shocking. I don’t know if this is a product of the education system but it seems to be a commonly held belief that (the majority of ) Americans are under-educated.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

The American justice system is one of the most draconian in the world. Much more draconian than any other developed nation. The death penalty and lack of rehabilitation have been largely avoided by most developed nations.

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Cough, cough, ahem. The infiltration of government agencies by the monied corporate powers is astonishing.

14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Dubya was a dodgy one the first time around. The second time around he illegally used the mailing list of Pat Buchanan to influence the bible belt. This from an established dynasty.

Obama, I will explain below.

The states of the US are in crisis. Corporate interests rule in America and the populous have been indoctrinated to such an extent that any deviation from the norm is viewed as socialism, terrorism or a threat to national security.

Corporate America has enveloped every facet of the US government, the regulatory agencies have been compromised through the insertion of ex corporate personnel. The very heart of government is compromised largely through the fund raising practices required for election, the abuse of lobbying is there for all to see. I believe the government (blue or red) to be so compromised by corporate money that they are largely irrelevant.

The Soviet Union was a credible threat to America and the world, bravely beaten by the US but not before the seeds of mistrust and hatred were instilled by McCarthyism and his attack on unions, political adversaries and anyone who disagreed.

This passion seems to prevail American society, where any policy not endorsed by corporate need is discounted as Marxism or (with a broad brush) socialism.

I believe fascism began right around the time of the rise of America as a superpower. Corporate interests were facilitated first through the lend lease agreement and later were cemented during the Vietnam war. America lost its morals somewhere in these times as the question of whether actions were justified were replaced with the ideal ‘what can we get out of it?’

America became a superpower through profiteering from war, before lend lease, America was second to the UK empire. Now it is widely believed that America saved Europe from tyranny. This is both true and false. American goods helped the war effort, as did the late arrival of their troops. Let us not pretend though that American interests were political at this point in history. The wheels of American productivity were well greased by the finances of at least two generations of the Allies in the form of debt repayments.

Here was born the military industrial complex.

Corporations were the beneficiaries of this massive inflow of foreign capital and they wasted no time in putting these funds to political use.

We find ourselves here.

There are more knowledgeable people on here than me that can document the abuse of the being the world’s reserve currency. It doesn’t matter really. What is prevalent in American society today is the complete capitulation of the populous to the brand, the must have, the corporate advertising relating to everything from which pants to wear to which president to elect.

Obama was the slickest advertising campaign known to man. The world was sick of the Bush dynasty but not quite ready for the ‘socialist’ leaders of the democrats. Bring forth change. Bring forth an excuse for the redemption of slavery. Bring forth hope! They brought this forward with a marketing campaign reminiscent of the best of satchi and satchi.

What we got was another corporate puppet and the world rejoiced, such institutions as the Nobel prize board made to look foolish by the power of media.

We got a president that promised the world and delivered the opposite.

I digress.

America has become a rogue state, banks have destroyed the world economy using complex financial instruments unregulated due to regulatory infiltration by corporate interests.

Food is contaminated by the greed of corporate dominance of agricultural policy.

Education has been bastardised through the use of corporate lesson plans and financing policies.

Foreign policy dictated by interested parties chasing profits.

Media compromised by corporate oversight and overlapping ownership.

I could go on but I should get to my point.

The hope of the world was placed in America. The dream was real. We sent our best and brightest to that continent in the hope of a better life. It is a shame to see it wasted.

The citizens of America have to lose the obsession with socialism. Right or wrong as a policy it is not important. The threat to your country and our world is fascism. Corporate governance of your country has to end.

I hate to say this but a new revolution is required in the US or we are going to see conflict on a global scale (again)

Watching the rapid escalation of policy pertaining to ‘national security’ in the last few years has been shocking. The abilities to rebel have been countered one by one using insidious governmental acts such as the creation of the TSA, the Homeland security, the NDAA, SOPA etc, etc.

Those weapons you hold are the last defence you have against corporate dominance of everyday life. They will be coming for them soon, or they will provide a suitable enemy as a distraction.

Please America, wake the fuck up, socialism is not your enemy. Fascism is, and it is a clear and present danger to us all.

There are many here on this blessed meeting place that have me labeled as a socialist, I am not. I lean left but not in the way you perceive.

Some of my most vocal detractors are those that I place my trust in most. They are the ones with the weapons and the means, training and conviction to put them to use. Just be sure to fight the real enemy. The fascist agenda will have you goosestepping to the glory of the battle against the socialists as you slowly give up your freedoms for the cause.

Know thyne enemy.

@endzeit

Took me hours to write that post. I see you have eloquently condensed it above already.

Bastard.

cpn, sure, fine with me.  I

cpn, sure, fine with me. I know you know well enough and I'm just feeling a might snippy. I'm nearly done with giving a shit anyway. All I know is none of us live in a vacuum and nobodys truth starts on even street. That includes my statement earlier on N.American security paid by "us." WTFDIK. "Which came first" is damn hard to discern at this point and i don't think it matters now. The DYE is cast (btw, i'm damn tired of seeing people write that as "the die is cast". No fucking wonder.)

A big warm hug from Down Under

Fellow Turdites

It was with sadness that I logged onto TFMR this morning and read through this thread in its entirety. Whilst I do not profess to understand the finer details of Obamacare, I do understand that for the majority of you, this ruling epitomises much of what is deeply wrong in America. Its almost like the country has stepped off a precipice overnight towards plutocracy, and away from the democratic "ideal".

I just wanted to say that I find the group on TFMR particularly inspiring in their approaches to adversity, from Katie Rose right through to Cal Lawyer, you are all terrific people and its because we have all met on this site that I now have hope, when I did not dare to before, that the world will not completely go to pot, and that like minded people will still find each other and collectively group to rally against injustice.

For all of you, a big warm
