Rats missed again

I guess I'll swing by the LCS and then go golfing.

I'll salvage this day somehow.

4th on the birthday

Still not bad.

Was really hoping for Jim Willie today as a B-Day gift. Prepared by listening to the last one again this am. The normal Friday will do though. Start the 2nd year off with a bang!

Nothing to see here, indeed!

Well, I'll be darned (like a good old sock) - Top 10! Purely organic, I might add, not that I am above trying.

Thats impressive

Pretty eye-popping numbers there TF.

22,ooo,ooo page views is a lot of viewing.

I was way off with too many pages view and wayyy underestimated the unique IP's. Wow!

Lurkers are awesome (I've always said that) and are always encouraged to chime in.

Nice job by everyone here and everywhere out in The Watchtower realm.

Happy Birthday and Congrats to Turd!

Happy Birthday to tfmetalsreports and congratulations to Turd for making this happen - as well as making this possible. ;) And a big shout out to all the members who have made this place what it is. You're the best!

@XTY re:rigged

We just have to worry if the paper value of turd hats starts dropping far below the value we all know them to have. I would be concerned about a fake foam hat ring - but I don't know with what cheaper material you'd use...

Nice job winners! My yellow hat is one of my most treasured possessions. I actually moved some silver out of the safe so I could place the hat in it!

I need to win a hat before I go bald Turd. Hook a brotha up!

I should have to give the hat

I should have to give the hat back for my horrendous unique visitors guess. Oh Well! Thanks, Turd. Looks like I'm finally going to have to explain to Mrs. Shnoz what I do all day when the big yellow hat arrives.

Congrats to All the Winners !

Congrats to all the winners!

I had my son make my picks for me, and at one point today he was right on the money with Gold....until the Cartel got busy.

Regardless, he's learning a great deal about real money and the illusion of markets, and hopefully this will be enough to help him see his way forward in the coming years.

When I look back at when I was his age, life seemed so much simpler then. It was possible for a young person to go out in the world, find a job, earn a living, meet someone to love and start a family without being too concerned about too many things.

Today I tell my son often that I don't really know what kind of advice to offer any more, because the world as we know it is coming apart and things will probably get worse before they get better.

OrangeAlert · Jun 14, 2012 - 4:02pm

That's hilarious.

Luckily Mrs. OrangeAlert already knows. She always asks me, "Are you reading that poop report again?"

To which I always have to respond yes, as I'm always reading this site.

@Dr G - You don't display that hat prominently in the living room or hat rack or something, it's locked in a safe? That stuff needs to be out there!

JohnnyR · Jun 14, 2012 - 4:12pm

Wahoooo - bet you don't have one of these ...

Breaking on the BBC ...

We're getting a "Extended Collateral Term Repo Facility". I have no idea what this is, but it sounds really exciting. I think it might be the new Brit name for QE.

By the way, we the Brits will be trade marking that name and registering the domain name at some point in the future, when we can afford to.

King's Speech

Mervyn King has just made his Mansion House speech. Again an admission from him that money printing causes currency debasement and that the effects of inflation take time to percolate through the system. But again he blames trouble overseas for the UK's problems without acknowledging that we have an even greater debt burden, with total debt at c. 950% of GDP. Of course, no acknowledgement either that the root cause of the problem is the fiat currency system.

He hints heavily that more QE is on the way along with increased re-capitalisation of the banks over 'several years'.

Looks like Sterling gold will be reaching new highs in the not too distant future.

Former 'God’s Banker'

Former 'God’s Banker' could blitz Vatican with cache of secret documents

The former head of the Vatican Bank has become the Papacy’s Enemy Number One, after police discovered a trove of documents exposing financial misdeeds in the Holy See. The banker now reportedly fears for his life.

Earlier this week police conducted a dawn raid on the house and office of Ettore Gotti Tedeschi. Investigators say they were looking for evidence in a graft case against defense and aerospace firm Finmeccanica, which was formerly run by a close friend of Gotti Tedeschi.

Instead, as it turns out, police stumbled upon an entirely different find.

They discovered 47 binders containing private communication exposing the opaque inner workings of the secretive Holy See. They included financial documents, details of money transfers and confidential internal reports – all prepared by Gotti Tedeschi to build a convincing expose of corruption in the Vatican.

A renowned economics professor and head of the Italian branch of the giant Bank of Santander Gotti Tedeschi took what turned out to be a poisoned chalice of a job in 2009, when he became the President of the Institute for Works of Religion, the formal name for the Bank of Vatican. His brief was formidable – to introduce transparency to a lucrative enterprise that had become a byword for money-laundering and corruption.

After a tumultuous three years marked by in-fighting and public scandals, Gotti Tedeschi was unanimously dismissed from his post by a board of Vatican officials in May.

Prime Ministers of Spain and Italy Call on European Leaders for Help

The prime ministers of Italy and Spain appealed Wednesday to European leaders for help in bringing the euro crisis to a close, as borrowing costs in both countries rose, underscoring investors’ perception that the measures enacted so far were inadequate to the task.

An auction of 12-month Italian government securities Wednesday carried a yield of 3.972 percent, well above the 2.34 percent interest rate investors were demanding in a similar auction last month. An auction of Italian longer-term debt on Thursday is expected to be closely watched.

Spanish bond yields also ticked higher, with the benchmark 10-year issue trading in the open market to yield 6.688 percent, up 0.4 percentage point.

Rising borrowing costs could imperil the €100 billion, or $126 billion, rescue package for Spain’s banking sector that was negotiated over the weekend with European Union partners. The deal’s success would depend on Spain’s being able to tap the bond markets at sustainable rates — which presumably need to be well below the 7 percent level at which Greece, Portugal and Ireland sought bailouts.

The Greeks Learned A Dangerous Lesson From Spain

On June 17, when Greeks try once again to choose their next government, they may decide their country’s fate—or not. One thing is for sure, whichever parties will be able to form a coalition government, they will push for more bailout billions, but this time, forget the conditions, the structural reforms, the austerity. Just give us the money. And however much we want.

They’d watched how Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy had asked for a bailout ... after reassuring everyone with utmost sincerity and for the longest time that neither Spain nor its banks would need one.

Not a detail escaped the Greeks when, after the bailout meeting on Saturday, Rajoy proclaimed victory, saying he’d been offered €100 billion, no strings attached. That’s what Greek politicians wanted to hear—and they jubilated; the yoke of German-imposed structural reforms and austerity had been broken

It didn’t matter to them how much German, Finnish, and EU officials protested that that’s not how they understood the agreement; there were, in fact, lots of strings attached, they said, which makes you wonder if there was even an agreement

So the bailout Troika has put the Greek banking system on a transfusion. Lifeblood in the amount of €18 billion arrived last week. More money is available through the ECB’s Emergency Liquidity Assistance, which lends money via national central banks to local banks. However, the ECB has shrouded in mystery for how long and to what extent it would be willing to keep the transfusions going, worried apparently about throwing good money after bad.

Didn't Clif Predict the Vatican Secrets Leak?

I thought I read here about two weeks or so ago, of one of Clif's predictions involving a scandalous release of secret Vatican documents/secrets?

Nice work, Clif.

This coordinated response is complete BS. If the $50 move down doesn't start tomorrow, it will Sunday night after the election, how can it not. Esp after seeing the response to this "news". In addition they are now pumping gold on Fast Money, give away!! There will be QE, but they have to drop it at least one more time, this is their chance now that the sheeple think gold is good either way after the election. Total setup. In fact I took out puts today on paper, holding my phys of course. Obviously the logic tells you otherwise, which is why I am so sure. Good luck to anyone with leveraged long paper, your gonna need it over the next few days, should be a good time to pick up phy at bargain prices however. Bank on it.

I will also add that they will say one of two things to explain the beatdown: 1) Liquidity crisis, selling gold for margin calls, etc. or

2) Positive results and no need for QE, so gold goes down.

Of this I am sure

The Silver Arrow Launch Prediction!!!

Congrats to all the winners! You all obviously possess a very special hidden talent that may assist in predicting when The Silver Arrow will eventually be launched. Andrew Maguire announced on KWN back on March 2, 2012 that a new silver exchange was coming. He announced at that time that PAGE was killed and in its place a new exchange was being worked-on-quietly-for-months. Perhaps this new exchange will not be launched. Do the winners and all those runner ups care to make a new prediciton!! Thanks!!!

rtabit · Jun 14, 2012 - 8:04pm

$50 move down isn't that much IMO, if the explanations for the move down are either of your two examples I'd think it'd be much larger than $50. I think the chances for a jump up are greater than for a move down, and the percentage of the move up if that happens will be greater than the percentage of the move down if that happens. That being said, I will head into the weekend flat and have a good time.

Unique visitors

Not to rain on the fabulous parade, (and it is fabulous) but in all honesty and fairness, the count should be 1,114,815.

As I account for at least 5 of those unique's. My home laptop, office desktop, Iphone and Ipad and office laptop.

Which reminds me of a joke.

How do you catch a unique bunny?

Unique up on him!

Sorry..... couldn't resist.

"Wow. I was thinking the Turd got more in the way of repeat business. The average user only looked at 20 pages before leaving. WTF? I do that in a single day EASY."

It's an average, of course I know you realize that, but it's common that about half of all visitors - roughly - don't get past the first page, or spend longer than about 30 seconds, if that. A lot of people bounce in and right back out. It's the nature of the internet.

And 20 pages BTW is HUGE in the internet business. Terribly impressive.
