Happy Birthday To Us!

WOW! Has it really been a whole year? Yes, it has. Amazing!

One year ago today, we flipped the switch on TFMR. Where has the time gone? Where has my money gone? (Oh yah, JPM took it when MFG failed.)

On 6/14/11, gold was trading around $1525. Back then, some were worried that that level would be a "top". Interestingly, after all we've been through this past year, we now view $1525 as an almost impenetrable floor. Hmmm. What a difference a year makes.

On the other hand, back on 6/14/11 silver was trading near $35. Many of us would take that right now. Oh well, just have a little patience and we will be there again soon.

We're giving away a couple of hats today. Four weeks ago, we began contests for the most accurate predictions of Comex closing price today for both silver and gold. Let's give away two more! At 1:30 pm EDT today, what will be the total number of pageviews for this site over the past year AND what will be the total number of "unique visitors", as measured by google? Please use the comments section to enter your guesses. I'll begin a new thread this afternoon where we'll announce the winners.

Until then, have a great day. I see that The Wicked Witch decided to mark our anniversary by sending us a gift, unabomber-style. She seems intent upon keeping the price of silver under $29. I wonder why? Anyway, I hope you have a fun day. Check back in a few hours for that new thread. TF

Awesome

Congratulations, Turd and all Turdites.

I was led over here from ZeroHedge, which I discovered while reading Seeking Alpha, to the old blogspot site, during my red pill 'awakening' of 2008.

I cannot express how valuable this community has been to me. Even more so than the preparations, education, and price entry point analysis has been the support and encouragement, and sometimes tether to sanity, this place has been.

May your hat tips runneth over and all our precious be priced true to market.

JackT · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:22am

Congrats, TF!!

A year, already? Been lurking since day one (on the old blog site) & figured it's time to finally register. Next stop -- hitting the tip jar.

SRSrocco · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:24am

THIS YEAR WILL BE EVEN MORE INTERESTING...

Great job Turd on the site. By the way, when did you think you were going to release the JIM WILLIE PODCAST?

tosser · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:24am

first

nobody has posted first so here it is happy 1st bday

Airgead · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:25am

Super! Happy birthday!

Silver down: perhaps pre-emptive strike?
I get the feeling that they are defending the 29 USD/ounce level like heck.

waxybilldupp · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:25am

Thanks Turd

I've been following a lot of different sites over the years (LeMetropole Financial Sense and many more), but this is home. Not only does our Mayor provide up to the minute analysis, commentary and superb interviews, poking around inside the heads of Jim Willie and the like, but the contributions of fellow Turdites are priceless and unlike any other site anywhere else. TFMR IS THE BOMB!

Happy Birthday Mayor Turd. Thank you for a great year. It's just the start!

Happy BD TFMR and all in the community

For all those who have had the good fortune as well as the misfortune of being the first "one".

Happy Birthday to all here and a big thank you to TF for making it all possible.

Also, hat tip to George Carlin. Just because you turned two doesn't mean you stopped being one. Matter of fact it's you're second time around at being one. Should be getting better at that one every year.

repost

I'm reposting this from the bottom of the old thread, just because I think its THAT important. After crunching my financial repression numbers and doing the post, I'm sitting here literally shaking. The numbers are that bad. Need to log off and settle down a while. Save me some birthday cake.

Some big things happening to the data stream that I keep over at the Financial Repression thread. Interested parties should check it out. Bottom line is that in my humble opinion, the Fed needs to uncork QE3, and they need to do it NOW.

Best Wishes TFMR

Bon Anniversaire!! I think that's French Canadian for Happy Birthday. But either way - Great work over the past year Turd. The site is my number one stop each and every AM and numerous times throughout the day.

Bombing Raid 34.0

On days like this (slam at US open) they often seem to do a secondary attack into the EU close. Watch out and BTFD, this stuff shouldnt scare anyone any more, today's raid is the most blatant yet when compared to the Euro and equity markets

SaratogaPrepper · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:32am

Happy Birthday TFMR!

Happy Birthday TFMR! So glad I found this place. I can't even remember how I stumbled upon it, but so very glad I did. The great discussions, on topic and off, have taught me more than any book or news program ever could. It helped me keep my sanity during an extended tour on the Disabled List. The links, music videos, and just the general feeling of being part of a huge diverse family have added so very much. Thank You all for easing my mind, knowing I haven't been crazy these past 10 years, while I prepped and stacked.

Thank You, Turd, most of all for bringing this site into existence!

squib · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:32am

Congratulations to you.

First off.

I would like to congratulate you on your 1st year of being one of my favorite reads.

I only signed up with your site a couple of days ago, and this may be my 1st time posting.

Thank you for putting our markets in their proper perspective,

and keep up the good work.

Re: Oh yah, JPM took it when MFG failed

First off: If I had a SILVER HAT I would send it to Turd on this anniversary. Alas, I have none.

In any case Turd, do not despair over yr MFGlobal lost money as some more may be on it's way:

From: https://seekingalpha.com/currents/all

10:30 AM CME Group (CME) agrees to return $130M in property for the benefit of MF Global's (MFGLQ.PK) former commodity customers, says James Giddens, the trustee for the bankrupt firm's broker-dealer unit. The deal will be implemented after the approval of the bankruptcy cou
Mr. Fix · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:39am

Congratulations on your 1st birthday.

Although I have been reading your blog for most of the past year,

this is the 1st time I have actually posted on it.

Thank you for all that you do,

and thank you for putting these crazy markets in their proper perspective.

Buckets o Plenty · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:40am

Keep up the good work and keep on stacking!

RTMoney · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:42am

Happy Birthday!

Page views have to be pretty stout with the forum and people reading through 5-7 pages of comments... 7mm? unique visitors 20m? no idea, just wild ass guesses!

LaMachinna · Jun 14, 2012 - 10:46am

Happy Birthday TFMR
