So, this is how it works in the Age of Lies, Obfuscation & Nonsense.

4/13 - Bernanke talks. Down go PMs. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/no-hints-qe-latest-bernanke-word-cloud

Absolutely ridiculous and comical nonsense. NO ONE should be attempting to trade gold and/or silver futures on the Comex. The WOPRs and The Cartel are completely in charge and every mutterance and headline sends a cascade of HFT orders based solely upon phraseology and syntax. THIS IS MADNESS! In the end, the fiat price of true money is left to shift in the wind, regardless of the underlying fundamentals. Therefore, THE ONLY ONES WITH A CHANCE are the regulars in Andy's Army. EVERYONE ELSE must avoid day trading at all costs. THE ONLY OPTION is to buy physical metal on paper metal dips and TAKE DELIVERY.

Have a nice weekend. TF

I am completely fed up of the bragging and infantile suggestions of 'saving our butts' from the other side of the pond, it is not so much that the facts don't support it, or the idea that somehow they fought harder or better, not even the wildly inaccurate portrayals of key parts of the war through American cinema.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only times I've seen anyone post something like this, it usually follows double digit posts of how "evil" the U.S. is.

NEVER by me, and none that I recall from Number_47.

When I was a kid, I grew up (a) strongly admiring America & the Freedom-Loving YankeeSpirit and I wanted to be an American, and (b) strongly admiring the UK's own highly moral Professional Police Force/Service and wanted to be a "Bobby on the beat" (and I did actually join the police, but never made it past training due to my being nailed by a Hit & Run smeghead before training-completion).

However, here & now some 40-50 years later, I am DAMN glad I never ended up as either, as BOTH systems have become WAY overly corrupted in the last decade or two and NO LONGER serve the People/Citizens that they are supposed to. .

... The UK political elite has always been somewhat authoritarian in nature, but I had always hoped for better from America (given the historical & unique birthright of the nation created by America's Founders) & I am deeply sorrowful that America seems to be rapidly running headlong down a similar path to that which empowered despotic tyrannies such as those of Hitler/Stalin/Etc. ... and I would indeed REJOICE if the American People succeeded in regaining the lost Power & Glory they have surrendered to the American Elitists (before it's too late).

It's been awhile since...

...I've seen anyone post a coin pic.

What is your favorite coin that you either have or would like to get?

I have one of these and wish I had a lot more.

I love the American Buffalo's and the Eagle's (no surprise there). I would like to get a Canadian Gold Maple and I always see EO with these beautiful British Sovereigns. But there is something about the big 50 peso that feels sooo right. It has a 'Palmability' factor of 9.9 for a coin.

A large gold bar blows away a coin imho and would be a '10' everytime.

So what coin would you wish to own or already have that's your favorite?

I've been here the whole time but I just don't post much. Most posters here are well versed and I just learn as much as I can. Turned on to the metals in mid 2005 and never looked back. Picked up on Turd at his previous site and followed him and everybody here. I dig the miners but they are digging me a hole.. I keep a select few and always looking for more as I'm always bullish and looking forward. The brothers I know are natural preppers and slowly are picking up what I have been saying. Still can't converse with anyone one a level that is found here so I lurk and attempt to post when I can. GLTU

Excellent song! I've never seen that video though, reminds me of all the crazy stuff I've seen in 30 years. I've been out on leave for two months after having a new hip installed (the job takes a toll on the body) and can't wait to get back into it the first of May.

Turd gets noticed at 24hr. Gold

Hey Turd,

Don't know if this is mentioned up thread, I do not have the time to read through the 300+ comments. Article at 24 hr. Gold is not a glowing review but indication that TPBT have taken notice and are working to counter and defend their comfy positions. The use of buzzwords like "cult leader and hedge fund buddies" is pretty much an indication of where the author is coming from. The author knows perfectly well who Mr. Maguire is and why he is organizing but urges us to sit back and take the anal rape that is price manipulation beyond any reasonable parameters.

Silver still on sale. Stack on.

Never said it was you, or Number 47. All I'm saying is that American CITIZENS tire of hearing how evil we are. The posters who posit this meme don't seem to separate the system from the people.

We know we have "evil" people "running the show" so if the "America haters" would just be a little more selective in their hate, we the CITIZENS would appreciate it.

Value of metals

As tradesmen, we have always appreciated the intrinsic value of materials. Every job I've been on the copper had to be locked and guarded. I always love unwrapping a new switchgear and seeing those solid copper buses, and if they didn't cheap out, they're plated in silver. Hard work, but proud work.

Our stories sound similar. I've been around since the "Watchtower" days. I rarely post because I'm just a simple stacker and know nothing about trading. The only stocks I own are in a 401K that I rarely look at. I started stacking (or "Woke Up" as I call it) around 2001 thanks to my brother. Wish I had bought a lot more shiny when it was at those prices. I agree that our "brothers" are natural preppers. A couple I work with are now joining me on my trips to the LCS. I usually just read the comments here, but tonight the bottle of scotch looked tempting and....

Yuan: The wildcard comes to life

April 15, 2012, 9:46 p.m. EDT

China sets yuan value lower after widening FX band

By V. Phani Kumar

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- China raised the official dollar-yuan central parity level on Monday, signaling a weaker local currency, after announcing over the weekend a decision to widen the pair's trading range to 1% from 0.5%. The greenback's daily parity level was set at 6.2960 yuan versus 6.2879 yuan on Friday, in line with the dollar's broad advances against major global and Asian currencies. Starting Monday, the People's Bank of China will allow the dollar to move 1% from that level. In the offshore spot markets, where the yuan is traded more freely, the dollar /quotes/zigman/4869230/sampled USDCNY +0.27% rose to 6.312 yuan from 6.2986 yuan the previous day, according to FactSet Research data. Several analysts have said China's weekend move signaled confidence that the yuan would move in either direction, and that it shouldn't be seen as a sign that the Chinese currency would rise more rapidly. Royal Bank of Scotland strategist Woon Khien Chia noted the widened trading band was a "market liberalization step and not a monetary policy move."

You too?!?! Copper theft has been HUGE in our area. I had a call about an alarm at a substation last fall. Turned out someone broke in and stole a grounding bar off a live 115Kv to 13.2Kv transformer. 20 feet x 8 inches x 3/4 inch. That's a few hundred lbs. They either knew what they were doing or VERY lucky.

substation copper theft

Theft of copper from substations is so common now that here in my part of Ontario, copper plated steel cable is being permitted for use for grounding of fences and around transformer pads. That's new for around here.

Eric,

I noticed above that you prefer the 20 pesos more than the 50 pesos posted by IS7. Any reason why? I am interested in purchasing and was curious about your opinion or anyone else's.

50 Pesos - $2,022

Here's what I used to have...

I got rid of the the 50 Peso and the Kangaroo when the GSR was at nearly 58:1...

I'll never get rid of my St. Gaudens or my Buffalo though.

I'm mostly silver...except that everything I had fell to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico in a tragic boating accident last year during a wicked storm at sea. Everything went overboard, so all I can say is that I used to own some nice gear before it all fell to the bottom of the sea...bad luck I guess...

Fairy 'Nuff, Squire .... Europe had/has a similar problem in that many people were (& some STILL are) unable to mentally differentiate between "Nazis" and "Germans" ... Not all (nor even most) Germans were "Nazis", and not all "Nazis" were Germans (For example, a fair few UK "elite members of the Establishment" were fully subscribed to Nazi-Ideology & supported Hitler's aims during at least the early stages of WW2).

As for me personally, I can't bring myself to "hate a country" merely because of a few assholes that may live in (or even have control of) that country or region ... Everybody else is responsible for their own views & actions.

Likewise, to me, an Asshole IS an Asshole irrespective of where he/she lives, and we on this side of the pond have enough problems trying to deal with our own Assholes (preferably WITHOUT having to worry about whether your Assholes [who currently have the greater power] are about to shaft us Euro-Peasants as well) ...... Although I suspect over here our Portugese, Spanish, Irish, Italian, & Greek, etc, etc, etc Assholes may be about to "turn the tables" and cause your Assholes some pain & discomfort.

Guess who's likely to suffer the most, though .... Yup, Euro-Peasants & Yank-Peasants rather than the Assholes on BOTH sides.

In an ideal world, you Yank-Peasants & us Euro-Peasants would sign a "Mutual Benefit Treaty" whereby ALL yours & our Assholes would be subjected to "Extraordinary Rendition" to somewhere nice & quiet where they couldn't escape or bother any of us Peasants again, and I would suggest somewhere like Devil's Island or Bikini Atoll .... Whoops! Time for my next Double-Ritalin dose, I guess.

USA- ASE sales down

I wonder what the Dec 2010 vs Dec 2011 sales numbers look like. I know that I did a lot of buying just before Christmas when prices were down. I spent pretty far into my dry powder because I felt like it was a great buying opportunity. Took me a couple of months to replenish the DP before I started buying again. I am probably not the only one to do this.

I don't personally buy anything large. If I can buy 10 1/10th ounce coins for close to what I can buy a 1 oz for, I will buy the smaller coins.

But as far as gold that I have coveted, I have a friend who has one of these made into a necklace. He has a big heavy 22kt chain that he wears it on. Yes, it does look like something that a rap star would wear, but it is a great conversation starter!

Going forward

When Greece started to default, gold and silver dropped. Now Spain is in trouble, again gold and silver are dropping. We still have Italy and Portugal to follow. I've been a stacker since 2005, but I don't see gold and silver going up tremendously for another couple of years. Because of these country defaults, people are still rushing to the US dollar. We'll have our day, but IMHO not any time soon.
