What are you doing, New Year's Eve? Well, if you're like me, you're cleaning the house on the orders of the Mrs. In between chores, however, I figured you might be looking for a distraction so I present these two items.

First, another great video from Judge Napolitano. You've probably noticed by now that I'm a big fan of his. In fact, his program is the only television program (other than football) that I ever watch. Please do not dismiss him because his show is on the Fox Business Network. The Judge is a true constitutionalist and patriot.

My experience is that what countries with worthless currencies do is to mandate that the worthless currency is used. They require banks to do all business in that currency, may loans only in that currency, accept deposits only in that currency, require all taxes and fees be paid in that currency, and pay all public employees and pensions in the currency. When that happens the general population who lives hand-to-mouth uses the worthless currency without question. People with excess of the worthless currency convert it into hard assets like vehicles, real estate or gold.

How Congress Has Signed Its Own Arrest Warrants in the NDAA Citizen Arrest Act

It is done. President Obama has signed the National Defense Appropriations Act, which includes Amendment 1031, which allows for the military detention of American citizens.

Naomi Wolf warns that military power turned inward has always resulted in the beating up of journalists and editors, but also, she notes, government leaders. Wolf wrote this just a few days ago before the NDAA was signed and passed into law:

US Congresspeople and Senators may think that their power protects them from the treacherous wording of Amendments 1031 and 1032: but their arrogance is leading them to a blindness that is suicidal. The moment they sign this NDAA into law, history shows that they themselves and their staff are the most physically endangered by it. They will immediately become, not the masters of the great might of the United States military, but its subjects and even, if history is any guide — and every single outcome of ramping up police state powers, unfortunately, that I have warned for years that history points to, has come to pass — sadly but inevitably, its very first targets.

exactly...that was my point a while back when the Senate passed the bill. If they think they're going to pass this bill and not be subject to it as well then they're only fooling themselves. I would hope we have a just and patriotic military who see this government is out of control and would use their power either by their oath to protect the Constitution or under the Declaration of Independence to abolish these scumbags (so to speak). It happened a couple years ago in Honduras when the president there tried to usurp their Constitution (which was copied after our own), and their military took him. What we need to be asking ourselves is why isn't our military defending us against this tyranny?

I can't disagree with that. However, my point was that the central banks are likely to drift into two camps, but central banks always act in concert, so the group willing to adopt a gold related standard will have leverage over the other group this time around. It's going to be hard going for the paper pushers to get anyone to go along with the Ponzi when other organized central banks want to back with gold. I don't think the Fed and the ECB are kicking the can because they intend to force another fiat Ponzi when they can just jockey for control of the new system. Gold will be integral to that system, beyond that, anything is possible.

Israel will be forced into signing a peace treat with the Arab nations because all nations including America has turned against them.

The president will be given a 2nd term because of a lack of true vision of other candidates and they are divided.

Mr. B.O. will negotiate the terms of the peace treaty with Israel.

The Muslims will continue to riot and spread violence across Europe and will have little resistance.

The dollar will not demise nor the silver rise as quickly as believed.

Millions of families will plant gardens and grow some of there food as they have not done before.

Two of the four major world religions will begin to embrace each other as brothers.

In Mr. B.O.'s second term we will see million person marches in Washington D.C. which will not be peaceful.

Food shortages will begin to appear across North America because of hoarding more than because of a lack of supply.

The crime rate will rise rapidly because of the fear of not having.

Many Americans will move to Canada, Alaska and Central America and the beginning of a new migration will occur out of the coastal states.

Power grid blackouts will occur to shut down the ability to communicate across the web keeping the population in darkness as to events.

Families will come together to survive as they have not done in fifty years of excess.

The government will push to disarm all Americans for the good of the nation just as Hitler ordained long ago.

The government will continue to gather as much information on our individual family units starting with complete census investigations as a smoke screen.

A new spiritual awakening starts in RSA, moves through Europe and flows through North America.

This partial list is JMO and some of it cannot be altered, however I would be happy to see most of it as just a bad NW VIEW.

end of year forecasts ?

There was a post a while back showing a list of experts 'end of year' forecast for S+P

I had this thought .... to consider what does it mean...."end of year" as the standard for a wave or cycle Completion.

Who says that December 31 is automatically the 'end of the wave structure', or price action structure, or the cycle of direction trending.....

December 31 ,like any date in time, is only an arbitrary 'date in time' and may in fact have nothing to do with the completion of a cycle that moves in waves up ,down and sideways.

So these pundits made some prediction for the S+P price at year end 2011.

Looking at their number forecast....I was curiously struck that several had chosen the price area around 1400-1440 area.

and now, they look like fools because price is nowhere near that target.

What I noticed is that this price zone is the same target I have calculated as well..... but its not based on the 'end of year' timing ..... its based on .... end of wave structure .... target. end ,or completion of an Elliott '5 wave up ' structure.

and that structure has nothing to do with finishing on december 31....it has to do with completing the Elliott wave structure....and that happens whenever it happens.

The wave 5 begins as soon as the wave 4 completes. wave structure currently ongoing is likely near the end of wave 4 ,and beginning of wave 5 but could be stretched out for several months IN wave 4 Still....which means wave 5 to target 1440 area has some time to wait still.

I like elliott wave analysis. but it takes a little deeper thought than the standard formulas....and the idea of looking at the end of year calendar time as having some importance beyond a snap shot of that moment is missing the better vision.

It has little value to try and guess what the price target will be on december 31....since its only a snap shot of some place on a wave structure,ongoing, not yet completed....... Its Much more meaningful to look at the entire wave structure, on many time frames, and get some snse of where we are in the wave structure that is playing out, and maybe also get some sense of the timing, that is playing out, stretching out, over time, weeks turning into months.....

just some food for thought to ponder.

thanks for all the words of wisdom this site generates Turd. Turdville has made a positive impact on my way of thinking, and not just in regards to the metals.

I wish the best for everyone in the new year.

I have resolved to be at peace with the fact that most people want to live in blissful ignorance.

the truth is ugly, and it's easier to ignore it than face it.

I will continue to prepare and work to do what i can for the well being of my wife and boys, stacking the metals, food, and other prep items. BUT, i am going to work to blend in with the sheep and not openly express opinions to folks that are content to walk blind. sometimes camouflage is the best weapon.

i am VERY uneasy with our rights being executed with the passing of the NDAA bill and the looming threat of SOPA. Seems that it wouldn't take much to label a person a terrorist and an enemy of the Grand U S of A.

just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you...

my two cents

I’ve read many posts concerning Central Bankers and their “coordinated moves”. Last year I read Lords of Finance by Liaquat Ahamed, and it went into great detail about the actions of CB’ers before and during the great depression.

Unfortunately though, the book mostly writes how CB’ers carried well hidden biases and rivalries, and that CB’ers were mostly concerned with numero uno (his home land), then and only then, were they concerned with the good of the whole (I doubt anything has changed). The political leaders that stood behind these CB’ers had little input as they were clueless as what to do.

Oh yeah…Liaquat Ahamed is against the gold standard, and says that going to it caused the depression because there wasn’t enough gold to go around. I don’t remember what his argument for that was, or why they couldn’t have just revalued gold to match the monetary base.

here are my 2 cents

It is very hard to get a true grip on what goes on behind the scenes. There is so much information, sometimes contradicting bits and pieces, and every time i read a new story i ask myself if it is 1) true 2) orchestrated by one group of influential people or that more players are involved.

Just as a little mind game, i often ask myself what i would do if i was part of a secret group of elites...know your enemy.

The core should have to be very small: the more people you let into your dirty little schemes, the harder it gets to keep them secret. And i wouldn't want anyone to know that i am involved, so that means there would have to be different layers between me, my plans, and the operational layer. Also, there would have to be some means by which to make certain your own foot soldiers follow your rules and orders to the letter. That means some sort of repression or blackmail, maybe both (threats and if that doesn't help, an accident). Or puppeteer your little minions without them knowing they work for you, letting them think it's all out of free will. Sacrifice one of two sometimes, to remind the others to stay on track.

There would be a need for muscle, for brains, for propaganda and misinformation, etc etc. And you would have to have unlimited funds to finance your "business".

To conclude, there would have to be a clear goal. It could be as simple as "rule the world".

I have read several pieces about the Rothchilds & co, and they fit the above nicely. So it's probably true that they are involved (but what do i know). But what about the chinese, to name one...somehow i think they are a different group of players. And there might be even more, there are rumoers about some people going back to the Austrian-Hongarian empire, that would be busy with therir own little plotting.

To think that sharks have no competition, would be a little silly.

It seems that the NDAA would be the next-to-last cornerstone in the foundation of a totalitarian United States. With 9/11, the people practically begged for the Patriot Act. With Afghanistan/Iraq, the U.S. built up its military forces, perfected techniques for dealing with guerilla/terrorist-type opposition, and will be pulled back to the U.S. Throughout, local police departments, with federal money and training, have been built up into paramilitary organizations with a rigid, jackbooted mental framework instilled in them. The FEMA camps and other means of "disaster relief" have been quietly established. The NDAA grants unprecedented (and UNCONSTITUTIONAL) authority for the State to legally impose tyrannical force against the people. What is the final step? It is in two parts: The Supreme Court allows the individual mandate of Obamacare to stand combined with the takedown of the U.S./world economies. If the individual mandate is "constitutional," then the government can do anything it wants in the name of the Constitution. So, the government continues and finalizes the economic collapse, designed not to hurt the uberwealthy, but, rather, the somewhat wealthy and middle/working classes. Using chaos and panic, the government will institute firm totalitarianism and it will all be legal. Welcome to the United States of America. (By the way, if the Supreme Court manages to do the right thing and strike down either the individual mandate and/or the entirety of the Obamacare powergrab, then perhaps there is hope, but that hope cannot be allowed to be in the hands of the STUPID Party anymore than it can be allowed in the hands of the Democrats; if there is a future that respects liberty and private property, it will have to be preserved by a mass movement that demands it.)
