Thanks, everyone, for the "day off" yesterday. I needed to step away and clear my head. A little fresh air always helps the cause. It's Friday. I'm back. And there are a few things we need to discuss.

First of all, the markets in general. I can't find a single one I like. The "dots" of impending collapse are everywhere. The challenge is to try to connect them...or at least connect them in a reasonably accurate manner that allows you to move with confidence. In the end, though the global central banks seem to have unlimited fiat with which to prop them up, worldwide equity markets look as if they are perilously close to outright collapse. And don't ever forget the ultimate, short-term benefit that would befall the U.S. should this occur, first eloquently brought to our attention by the great Tyler Durden nearly two years ago:

https://www.istockanalyst.com/article/viewarticle/articleid/3739425

As this pertains to the PMs, traders should exercise supreme caution here. As you can see on the charts below, a breakdown today could foreshadow even more weakness next week. As I mentioned Wednesday evening, given the unprecedented level of C/C/C manipulation we've seen, I doubt they're done. Lots of moving averages out there that might provide support levels but I'm sticking with my ruler and sharpie and they continue to show possible bottoms near $24 and $1480. Again, if you must trade, please be cautious.

Lastly, I've noticed that, nearly every day, discussion increases here regarding the ongoing protests in New York. Many here are very passionate about the dangerous and tenuous position in which the current system of crony capitalism and banker oligarchy has left us. Fine. Me, too. However, I do not feel that Marxism and Marxism-lite (socialism) is the answer.

Perhaps one or two of our NY-based turdites could venture down toward lower Manhattan tomorrow to ask a few questions of these peace-loving youths so many seem to idolize. Let's start with:

1) What is the Federal Reserve, what is it's function, when was it created and what policy are they currently following that is so ruinous to the life savings and purchasing power of the average citizen?

2) What is a Credit Default Swap and what role did it play in the 2008 financial crisis?

3) In hindsight the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999 was not a very good idea. What was the Glass-Steagall Act and why was it important?

4) Going forward, which type of leader do you prefer? George Washington or Vladimir Lenin? Martin Luther King or Che Guevara?

I'm not going to wait for the answers. Why should I when I already have evidence like this:

Cornel West's Closing Remarks at Speach at Liberty Plaza in NYC

Is this an intelligent, thoughtful group which seeks reform within the current capitalist system that has defined America for 235 years OR is this simply a group of mind-numbed, "useful idiots" blindly repeating the mantras of a marxist revolutionary? You decide.

Clearly, in managing the situation, some police officers have over-reacted. This is always disheartening. Given the mayhem that has accompanied similar anti-capitalism "protests" in cities such as Seattle and Toronto, it would seem that the NYPD is not looking to be overly-friendly. This does not mean, however, that our mantra is "F the Police". If you think that the police are the enemy, then I must ask you two questions:

1) The next time you are in trouble....from a home invasion, a simple assault or a car accident...who will you call? Maybe you can take of yourself just fine but who will your spouse call if you're not around? How about your daughter? How about your mother? Who will they call?

2) And how did you feel about the police on 9/12/01? Were you proud of them or did you go around yelling "F the police"? Then ask yourself: What has changed? Have the police changed or have I changed? Your honest answer to that question needs to be considered.

Ok, time to conclude this post. Please understand, I know that the current system is unsustainable and must be changed. I am not, however, throwing in my lot with this first batch of "protesters". Marxist revolutions only lead to tyranny and mass graves and I won't be a party to it. Instead, we need a revolution of personal freedom and responsibility. We must reclaim representative democracy and free enterprise. When that movement finally takes to the streets, count me in. To that movement only, I will happily pledge my life, my fortune and my sacred honor. TF

p.s. Given the "controversial" nature of this post, the comments sections will be closely monitored. All views and opinions are welcome but anyone not observing TurdWorld Rule #1 (treat others the way you want to be treated) will likely see their comments deleted. We need more peace and less hate in this world and I will not allow this site to promote anger and hostility. We are all on the same team here and we need to work together if we are going to survive the turbulence ahead.

"Er... Sorry! Not tubes of Eagles, just an IT nerd habit... we call the internet the 'tubes sometimes... play on words... internet/interweb/blagosphere/intertubes/series of tubes (see Ted Stevens)"

Pretty surreal to see non-nerds be more accepted/common on the internet than the nerds. 10 years ago someone not knowing internet slang would have been chased until he would never dare dial in again. Good ole times.

Aw jeez JY896

...all i can say is, don't go there.... tonight at least... Been a rough week for all.

It got noticed and discussed here early this week. Yes, they are the Luke passages, and they are wonderful. You'll find some mighty interesting things at the bottom of some blogs. For instance, go Jesse's and have a look...

Tonight, I am going to leave it at that. To the relief of many! ( NOT snark: hell, I'm even relieved after this week :-)

After years of watching

After years of watching alinsky type tactics, I thought they'd finally given up. Initially trolls were blatant, then they morphed into more sophisticated forms. Often they would take on multi identities and talk to one another as if 2 or 3 people were conversing to each other, and the gig would go on forever. I've seen some wild ones. Yeah, zyphyen this idea that Max Keiser or Murphy is really Maguire is right from the master's book (not alinsky). Denigration and cheap labels like conspiracy theories, used to be racism, is really old. Yup, it's all there.

@PuckTS - Nice quote from

@PuckTS - Nice quote from Lennon, but as someone argued with Gandhi once, "that only works with civilized men like the British. What would Hitler have done with you?" Gandhi try to make an argument for nonviolence again, but was grasping at straws. Hitler would have just sent him and all his followers to another oven.

Thanks TF

Turd,

This board is full of solid PM posters. Some of the best I've ever seen anywhere. I don't mean any disrespect to anyone, but I will not stand by and watch some "yahoo" come in here and try to mislead people and try destroy what you have created.

We are lucky to have this place, and you have been the Man to get that done for us. Thank you for your efforts and best wishes going forward.

Hugh G Reaction - thank you so much for sharing

the psychologist on coping with 9-11 truth video. I have never seen this before and feel it is extremely insightful. As a trainee psychologist we learn to question everything cognitive, affective and behavioural, and this beautifully explores this.

What I see is 'cognitive dissonance' (a discomfort caused by holding conflicting ideas simultaneously, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance) and 'normalcy bias' (difficulties reacting to something they have not experienced before https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normalcy_bias) in its most basic form.

We within this community believe in reconciliation through truth on all issues; MOPE, the manipulation of the markets through the Cartel, the actions of politicians and central banks to destroy the fiat currencies - and yet some seem unwilling to consider the truth of this event. We, in the UK have had our eyes opened on many issues in recent years. All things that we have regarded as beyond moral question have been challenged and found wanting - the politicians expenses scandal, the Catholic Church scandal of systematic sexual abuse of those within their care in Ireland, and most recently the NewsCorp scandal involving the police (claiming the scalps of the two most senior Met commanders).

To move forward we need to fully grieve (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%BCbler-Ross_model) but I feel we are stuck in the denial stage on this one. If the US, as a collective, were able to bear to question the events that day they might move on to the anger stage which might herald some kind of meaningful revolution.

I really value this community, and mean not to cause any offence, I also feel that when the markets are going sideways that this is when the most interesting and challenging discussions take place.

HAT TIPS CHECK Do you realize

HAT TIPS CHECK

Do you realize you have asked some one to risk their health and freedom by going down to wall street to ask questions that most people couldn't answer, and then you won't wait for an answer ?

You open yourself for attack (verbal) by asking what you have asked today.

Question 1: Would depend on your neighborhood, skin color, and past experiences.

Question 2: I don't recall how I felt about the popo on 9/12 as I was concerned about dead and injured people, 50 was not part of the equation, people were. As far as pride is concerned, they took an oath to do a job I would assume they would live up to their oath. We don't give medals for doing what you are supposed to do where I come from. Everything has changed since that time, some for the better some not.

"F the police"... ,learned not to do that in '78 after "tripping" down a flight of stairs while handcuffed at the RI State Police Barracks, arrested because I "fit the description".When most of us see blue lights we feel apprehension. Think of the difference you feel between fire/ambulance 'vs police encounters. Why is that?

Where I live now 50 is pretty cool as we have not the levels of crime most of you have and we have strong sense of community as we know the officers' and their families. I have dear friends on forces around the US, most have told me I would be the enemy if I was on their beat, because I am black, straight up truth. I hold nothing against any one individually, but I know who to fear in groups. The unfortunate thing about 50 is the good MUST cover up/protect the bad.

Most fail to realize it was not the 4 that beat Rodney King, but the 17 who stood around HELD THE CROWD BACK and did nothing to stop it!

Turd you seem to be a decent person but you appear to have a Leave it to- Ozzie and Harriet's- Three Sons mindset. Those "good ole days"that many yearn for are spelled JIM CROW in my hood. So it is important to understand perspectives if we are to move forward. I accept that we all have differing views on all these subjects but by not "waiting for answers" and painting each other in corners with "are they intelligent or mind numbed" questions as if there are no other alternatives is not being at your best. It seems you have lumped the protesters in one group though they have no leadership/direction, while the " the rogue bad apples" have all that and more leadership direction, sense of cause, weapons etc. You are a passionate emotional person who has very strong beliefs, I applaud these virtues while disagreeing with some of your positions and naivety. I saw a documentary on filing a complaint against police that was filmed in 19 states across the country, the complainant was arrested/abused in 90% of the cases!

In any case who ever dismisses this will probably be caught up in history, as King George wrote in his diary on July 4th 1776 " nothing of interest happened today"

Hugh G Rection - you're most welcome

Sometimes it is hitting rock bottom that forces us to reach for the stars in terms of understanding who we are and where we are in life. Truth leads to light, and I also know that personally.

The reason I am training to be a psychologist is because of my own difficult life experiences and the light that the psychological process shines on the truth (personal, social and organisational)

Enjoy the 9 holes
