It seems that despite all of my efforts late yesterday to get confirmation from the CME that the sharp increase in Apr25 OI on Friday was real, the CME report was, indeed, bogus and a data error. What's funny is that the price reaction would indicate that we weren't the only people watching and wondering about the possible implications.
So here's the preliminary OI report for Monday. Recall that it was the FINAL report for Friday that showed the massive surge of Apr25 gold contracts...and Apr25 platinum contracts, too...apparently open and standing for delivery. My hunch all...
