We've promised you an exciting and volatile month and, if the first day of trading is any indication, it looks like we're going to be right.

I hope you all had a relaxing, holiday weekend. Yes, I know it was mainly a US and UK holiday. And yes, I know that there was some light trading yesterday. However, the action really got back underway last evening, overnight and into this morning.

The biggest issue thus far today is a selloff in the bond market that was alreay underway before the May manufacturing PMIs hit the wires at about 10:00 ET. For a summary, here's a ZH link...
