Sabbatical or no, this historic event deserves its own thread.

It has been a long eight years...but here we are...with new ATHs in both front-month futures and spot XAU.

Congratulations to all of you...for your persistence and for your willingness to remain on this journey, through thick and thin over the past eight years.

Never have I been happier to be wrong

I guessed way low for the end of July Hat Contest. Mostly because I assumed that the banks would continue their practice of throwing sand in the gears of the metals markets, and they would have had to struggle to grind slowly higher.

Boy am I happy to be wrong.

Something significant has changed. Something truly must be going wrong for the banks behind the scenes.

How wonderful.

Physical vs futures

Physical now USD 5 more expensive than futures. It is clear that price is not falling because of physical offerings.

We're living in new abnormal, Mavens. I think you're on

to something. Lots of stuff breaking. Perth Mint getting the stink finger. Damage to the COMEX and LBMA, silver supply lines pinching down, Scotia Mocatta shutting down, 25-50% of silver production from the Mexico and South American mines going off line.

It's like the 3 Gorges dam. It looks secure, it's still standing but the deformation and shifting of the dam structures along with historic flooding and the 40 inches of rain falling in Chendu is likely to result in a dam failure China will be totally FUBAR if that happens and nothing can fix it. Like someone said, it would be the greatest nature disaster in the history of mankind

If our financial systems shit shows fail like the 3 G dam, it'll be historically the biggest disaster in human history. And we're all just spectators to the epic crash and burn.

The last people, maybe the only people standing, with be those with precious metals, just like back when Rome fell, the only people who survived were those with real money. Ditto for the Weimar Republic. And Argentina, Zimbabwe, Poland and a hundred other countries that failed big time.

Like the man said, it's one huge shit sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a big smelly bite.

Didn't it happen just after a FED meeting?

I seem to recall that the Bank executives met with the FED right beforehand. Have there been any suspicious Bank/FED meetings recently?

So much exuberance makes me nervous.
