Here's a new thread...

Just a place to hold us over until I can get something written.

I've added a bunch of new comments to the old thread from about comment #250 through the end. Please check there for current thoughts.

For now, though, here's just a new thread for updated TFMR comments. The NYSE is about to open and I want/need to watch the action and listen to the commentary.

Will have a full update and regular Monday morning post by the usual 11:00 EDT.

PM bottom,may bee?

Next leg down in Markets will tell the tale. Looks like liquidation is still in play. We are in the 1st inning so lots of time for PM's to leap higher. I would expect the PPT boys to get run over at some point. They are not bigger than the Market. All that funny money the made up last couple of days is also in play sometime today.

I have always wondered why all the PM dealers

Never got together as a group

And started their own SEPARATE TRADING system ignoring the paper one...

Especially since Clinton, Summers, & Rubin...

@ Dr. P. Metals

Thank you for the Psalm 1 reference.

Put my big bible on dining room table for easy access. Print is extra large, for weak eyes, and ears.

Time to meditate.

GDXJ and SIL

My guess is that they decoupled from their net asset value on Friday because of the vicious selling. Although an ETF is supposed to track its NAV, it can get out of whack during times of high volatility. If it was sold down to where it was worth quite a bit less than its holdings, it can be up today even though the mining shares are down.

Miners rallying

Good to see.

Is there a way they can sell directly to physical buyers and bypass Comex price? Recall one producer selling directly to Chinese buyers at one point

Will roles reverse?

I honestly don't know this. Could Spec and bank roles become more neutral or even reverse? Putting myself in the place of a banker... if I looked at my book at some point and thought that I could go long and more than offset short losses, I would go for it. Would there be a market? Could I jump before all other banks?

Hard Copy

Print out checking account and/or saving account statements today, especially if you have opted for paperless.
