It may not seem like it but the metals face a pivotal 24-48 hours. Either the 2016 rally will extend from here or The Banks will win and the next stage of the Spec wash&rinse cycle will begin.

And, absent any significant news, what will drive gold and silver higher or lower? The USDJPY, of course. So, we begin today with this chart from Monday, Feb 8 and, below that, the updated chart from today:

On a side note, the sham/scam/illusion/fraud of a "stock market" continued today with the HFT algos only choosing to peg to crude oil when crude oil is rallying!

But the primary focus of this podcast is to prepare you for a very important 48 hours ahead for the metals and the miners. To that end, we spend the balance of the show discussing these four charts:

And again, please try to join us tomorrow for A2A with Bill Holter.

So watch for the results later this evening. This is also critical for the NATO/War Party.

Trump: Gold Better Than Cash; Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is

Trump: Gold Better Than Cash; Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is

In a deal that defies currently accepted norms, Donald Trump has rented out the 50th floor of the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street to American Precious Metals Exchange (APMEX) and has allowed the company to pay the security deposit in gold.

Trump agreed to accept three 32-ounce bars of gold in lieu of the cash security deposit. As of this writing, gold was trading at $1227.40 per ounce, making the 96 ounces of gold that Trump is holding worth $117,830.40. That should be more than sufficient to cover the security deposit for the 10-year rental.

Netherlands Vote

Was thinking about the post in the previous thread about the Temple of Baal going up in New York and London next week. The same time the Shanghai Gold Exchange goes live. And then the Netherlands vote.

What are the chances of yet another false flag between now and next week ?

The New US Republic Via a Global Currency Reset!!!

This is a very entertaining read to say the least. One can dream and the truth is often stranger than fiction. Great podcast TF!

I have hedged several times over the 6 weeks attempting to make a little money on the downside - only to get my butt kicked every time. I'm done and going to ride the wave on my SAND and FFMGF.

HOWEVER, there is an entity that has a lot of confidence that GDX is going down substantially before 4/15.

GDX is currently $20.15 and there are 38k & 35k CONTRACTS open interest of GDX $19.50 & $19.00 PUTS. Both positions are underwater and no one seems to be panicking.

SAND/FFMGF? Add in some PVG and NG and we're twins (I'll spare you some of the more atrocious of my picks).

Trump and taking gold for rental

That "occurance" has got to be 3-4 years old now. That date on article is misleading.

Lemming's picture

To the Moon or to the Toilet?

I suspect that the 73,000 puts on the GDX are there to hedge someone's rather substantial gold purchase.

Look, it's true that since 2011 we have all heard 6,492 successive predictions of a gold & silver supernova. It's also true that we are sick to the point of revulsion in observing what, to us, is OBVIOUS manipulation.

Why are we sick of this? Why can't we align our thinking with the facts?

Your arcane beliefs about truth and justice are outmoded. the idea that crime doesn't pay is BS. Supply and demand theory is apparently just that, a theory. The solid ground you think is under your feet is nothing more than a thin egg shell covering molten, seething lava.

Why can't fractional reserve banking exist at .001% reserve instead of 10%? Is there a fundamental reason?

Why can't Islamist Jihad prevail over your supposedly rational preference? Why shouldn't everyone participate in hacking off heads and clitoris?

Why shouldn't everyone prefer Bernie Sanders? The problems in Venezuela only exist in your subjective interpretation. Venezuela is actually a people's paradise.

You simply must get your head straight. Get aligned with the 'NEW' truth!

The U.S. economy is fantastic! Obama says you are nuts if you believe otherwise.

The dollar is the world's reserve currency. If you read the Wall Street Journal, you ignoramuses will discover that gold is a useless rock that pays no dividend.

Gold is money and money has no value, that is why one third of the world is already having to pay to hold money.

Any questions?

Roger Stone is a bully douchebag

He is an attack dog for crony capitalism, nothing more. Stone is a charlatan, nothing more. Stone is an example of the worst that America has to offer. He is important only to the ill/mis-informed.  Some folks just want to be played. Which is why Trump is doing so well. Alex Jones is playing the same bait and switch game. Anyone who thinks Trump is going to stand for anything beyond Trump himself, is delusional. Stone is the Super-Pac for Trump, that Trump complains about, how ironic.

The liar Trump calling someone a liar, kind of rings hollow.

Dutch vote 64% no according to exit polls

Said Reuters just 20 minutes ago.

Way to go!

matt_'s picture

Will the Dutch vote matter?

At some point, the countries in the EU may learn that their votes don't matter.  That is what I am afraid of.  Governments don't often relinquish power without violence. What if the UK votes to leave the EU?  My guess is the UK people will find out that they can't leave.

I have a good idea what would happen if the state of Texas voted to leave the USA.  In fact, a Texas secession referendum might actually pass, but I doubt Texas would ever be allowed to leave the USA without a civil war.

Dutch Vote

Don't get too excited guys.. plenty of weasel words and wriggle room.

"Turnout is projected at 32%, above the 30% threshold of voters needed to be valid but within a 3% margin of error."

Prime Minister Mark Rutte said his government may have to reconsider the treaty if the vote is valid.

"My view is that if the turnout is more than 30%, with such a victory for the 'No' camp, ratification cannot go ahead without discussion."

A libertian's thoughts on the Panama Papers

I know John McAfee has a ton of baggage, but so do the Clintons. Still, I think it's obvious that he is highly intelligent. Some say he was set up in the Belize flap. Personally, I don't know but I don't doubt it was possible.

The papers include, 12 heads of state, more than 150 politicians, 29 billionaires on the Forbes list, multiple financiers of terrorism, sports and entertainment figures and numerous CIA-linked companies.

Implicated as well are dozens of major banks that worked with Mossack Fonseca in establishing these offshore entities. Among them are the banking giants Credit Suisse, UBS, Landesbank, and Rothschild.

The above link has the whole article which is less than a page long. You might want to give it a look.

I agree, BUT, if O'bozo and then one of the commie twins (hildabeast and crazy bernie) continue to gut the US military and run up the country's debt, you could be wrong. Keep in mind that if Texas goes, it won't be going alone.

I saw that too, it could just be a hedge on a large position ... maybe the trader is giving the consolidation two more weeks then the rally continues? GDX chartwise still looks fine, above the 8 day, 21 day and 50 dma

Sound Money Minnow - Roger Stone

Is there anything specific that Roger Stone said that you disagree with?

Incidentally, he begins speaking at the 8:45 mark just in case you actually want to watch it.

Feel free to vote for Hillary or Cruz (or Romney or Paul Ryan) or any other  establishment puppet.

Also, if there is anything specific within the attached Clinton Video that you also disagree with - please feel free to share with me or the Clinton's so they can initiate a Libel/Slander lawsuit and an injunction to prevent Roger Stones NYT best selling  book from being sold .

Dutch vote reminds me of the last Greek vote

Votes don't amount to a hill of beans to the banksters and their boot-licking politicos.

Hey Texans, if you ever seceed, just join up with Canada.  Win-win!  You have enough guns for the both of us (plus those of Alberta), and we can give you British Columbia, which I believe is ultra-primo territory, once we deport all the left-coasters off to California.  With your votes, and those of the rest of the "thinking" Canucks, we would surely ensure that OUR VOTES COUNT!....OR ELSE!

So come on down (er up?) byes, we's got ta glasses.

Do you ever wonder...

...if someone you banter with here on TFMR might be someone you already know, on your street, or at your work, or in a store you frequent?  The Trump-gold story is old news, but frankly, I had forgotten about it.  Perhaps the Donald is a closet gold-bug, or even a "GASP!" Turdite.  He certainly has the $ to hide such a nefarious gold-buggishness from the prying snoops at NSA.

How about TFMR bumperstickers?  "Honk if your a Turdite", or "Turd Rocks!", or "Honk for the Turd", or some such.

Instead of political party signs this year, put a big-yellow-hat sign in your front yard.

I wonder when Jamie's birthday is.  I'm thinking of sending him a case of fine, sparkling eau d'abbatoir for his birthday.  Only fitting.

ag4me's picture

If I ever see

a giant yellow hat on someone's lawn, my first thought would be, "I bet there is some gold and silver in the fish pond in that back yard!"
