Seems they weren't quite representing the truth exactly.  Surely it's not a concerted effort at propaganda, though, right?

Not at all. The metal markets are the fairest, most honest, and open markets there is. ( all said tongue in cheek).

I think the whole thing shows how desperate GLD is to prove the oppositof what everyone has been saying.
