asked whether GOP lawmakers supporting the House "cut, cap and balance" debt limit measure would be unwilling to ultimately compromise, Boehner said, "I'm sure we've got some members who believe that, but I do not believe that would be anywhere close to the majority.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- House Speaker John Boehner and White House press secretary Jay Carney both quickly shot down a report on The New York Times that a deal has nearly been struck to lift the debt ceiling and cut spending. In a Twitter message, Boehner called it "false" and he said the Senate should pass the Republican "cut, cap and balance" bill, while Carney said the report was "incorrect" and the situation is "fluid."

It doesn't matter. Obama will

It doesn't matter. Obama will invoke the 14th amendment. The debt ceiling will be raised. Impeachment proceedings will begin. It will go to the Supreme Court with a decision right before the election. PS He won't be impeached either.
