How has the U.S. paid for the wars so far?  The United States paid for past wars by raising taxes and or selling war bonds.  The current wars were paid for almost entirely by borrowing. This borrowing has raised the U.S. budget deficit, increased the national debt, and had other macroeconomic effects, such as raising interest rates. The U.S. must also pay interest on the borrowed money. The interest paid on Pentagon spending alone, so far (from 2001 through FY 2011) is about $185.4 billion in constant dollars.

Truth, my friend...

Here's one possible solution:

And if there were more recognition of the case presented here:

then perhaps more citizens will begin to understand the BASIS for the problems we are having.

good links to read there Cris.  reminds me sad to see obama continuing RR's misguided latin american policy.

when i need a good laugh i pull out the NY State guide to becoming a candidate => i think with technology's communication/networking tools it will be possible to elect individuals willing to use the established party entites to get in and then stand  strong against  BS partisan crap. just very slow and difficult.  Moveon, DailyKos have done a pretty decent job in rallying folks to focus on candidates and issues.  definitely watching this:
