That pic is a new pence...sometime after 1966 or something UK went decimal. The UK coins I get are pre-1920 Strerling silver (92.5%) same for Canada..same years...in Australian coins go for 1943 and prior (not sure about 1944)  you can find odd realm coins too (i.e. Straits settlements... Hong Kong...Indian Rupees...New Foundland)

2 farthings = half penny

2 half pennies = pence

3 pennies = 3 Pence

There is a 4 penny piece called a Groat too.. Neat coin

12 pence = 1 shilling = 2 Sixpence

2 shilling = 1 florin ( I like florins)

5 shillings = 1 crown

4 Crowns = pound sterling

If you think about it, pounds sterling was a term originally used to denote a specific weight of money: a pound (14.5833 troy ounces) of sterling (92.5%) silver.

First of all, a literal fifty pounds of sterling silver, in troy ounces:

Now a synthetic "fifty pounds sterling", from which more than 75% of its literal meaning has been removed

It gets worse! £50 is now just this amount of silver

You can see that the process of currency debasement is not a new phenomenon. It has been going on for a long, long time, far beyond our lifetimes. We are not in the final stages of a 40+ year process, it's the endgame of a 200+ year process.

Or in economic terms, we are getting into not merely a Kondratieff Winter but a Kondratieff Supercycle Winter.

The last Kondratieff Supercycle turning point saw a lot of economic, social and political events known as cycle revolutions: the agricultural revolution, the industrial revolution, the enlightenment, the American revolution, the French revolution. All these things were symptoms of a supercycle transition.

If we are headed into a similar epoch, it may be fair to surmise that things will change far more radically than a "muddle-through" hypothesis provides for.

Guys I love coins and have many high grade type coins with much bulk silver.  However, I do not have a 2006 reverse proof eagle in my collection.  I love eagles I have 15 complete books and a proof set, but that is one coin I want very badly.  I just hate giving the extra cash required when I could get several more oz. of silver .999. I'm all about the good deal lol.    

Not much value in the Halfdime itself but a different ball game numismatically/variety. Where the value lies in this particular coin is the Die State. This coin is a VLDS( very late die state) of Valentine's V4. Dr. Valentine wasn't aware of this very late die state of his V4 and it went unreported until 1986. Steve Crain,  LSCC #1017, has several examples of this coin showing the progression of the die cracks into retained cuds as seen on my coin. The cuds occured suddenly as for all known late state examples show precisely the die deterioration indicating that the coiner removed the reverse die from service after striking only a few coins with massive cuds. Steve Crain has 6 examples and I have 1. Steve messaged me about about 2 others that are floating around out there but have not heard of any more since then. Can I say I have 1 of 9? I would really like to but who knows? The most I was offered for this coin was $200.00. I would have made 1000% profit and I turned down the offer simply because this coin needs to go to someone who isn't going to sell it. That guy would have resold it, I'm 1000% positive.
