Waiting boredom

dum de dum, range-bound action in a tightening formation. Waiting is such a bore, but it is the heart of the game.

I don't know how this community trades, I am just a little fish trading on Bullionvault. I am 75% invested in PMs, equally between gold & silver. I wish I had weighted it more to silver, but the GSR might offer some opportunity to switch. I will continue converting gold to silver if and when the ratio goes above 56. I will convert the other way, starting at 45.

I am 25% cash; I booked some profits along the way these last months on the intermediate highs, I am short term bearish, and hope to pick up some bargains soon. Because I trade on BV, I think in prices per kilo. Silver is currently 740 euro per kilo, and I become a buyer at 716. In dollars we are at $1000 / kg, and I start buying at $970. In GBP, we are at £640, and I am a buyer at £626.  These are not huge gaps, but they are always just beyond what is an ever tightening range. So I wait.

Sometimes the metals are static in dollars, but currencies move and create opportunities, so I use all three currencies available on BV.

And I hate being out of dry powder. I am a buyer all the way down to $19 for silver, in three currencies. I don't expect it to get to $19, but could there be a worse scenario than to be gifted such an opportunity, and have no ammo?

GLTA!

@ RunRunRun

If PTC is truly a place of grizzled cynics, and whiskey fuelled visionaries, then I think that I might quite like it here! wink

In the short term, having introduced myself above, I'm going back to lurking. I'm here to learn, I'm not in a position to teach.

Thats all in the past now Pailin

The Russians are the ones holding folding now.

Lucky I made that exit. Although I would have

scored a win staying in, my stop would have gotten

gamed first. Been there, done that, got the bullet

holes -and the scars to prove it : (

According to Dr. Van Thorp

Most concentrate too much on entry points and not enough on defining personal objectives.

Hey SSK, did you do the MUX trade?

I'd been following MUX for awhile and got reinvigorated by Santa mention. I got in at 2.78 yesterday only to hear about the sick miners that had forced short shutdown at one mine.

But I liked the fundamental story, with positive mentions that included an analyst upgrade. Also liked the technical picture. Got lucky on pop this morning and punched it out on the high, so far, of 2.93.

Thinking this is a buy again in the upper 2.70s for a long-term hold or short-term pop, whichever seems right at the time.

Metals

Going no where fast...so far.

Anyway, gave my lady her Valentine's Day present early (I'll be away on business Thursday night), a pair of 1/2 carat stud earrings. Later I asked if she would rather have had a few gold coins. Just got a look. haha.

A palpable force behind the

A palpable force behind the metals this morning.  Dollar hovering at 80, yet metals persist more or less ignoring it.  Miners following suit.  It's a tough call today, again.

Yeah, thanks for drawing attention to those, the other day.  I just picked one (MJNA) then, and have been letting it ride--so far, so good.

Indeed.....

nothing goes up forever, but there really seems to be a lot of new money piling into this industry.
