"I am an authority on commodity related long-term warrants and have written many articles on the subject (I seem to be the only one doing so) over the past 7/8  years. I have developed 2 proprietary indexes - the Gold and Silver Warrants index (GSWI) and the broader Commodity-related Company Warrants Index (CCWI). You can get all the details here:

1. The “Secret” World of Gold & Silver Company Warrants http://www.munknee.com/2011/05/the-secret-world-of-gold-silver-company-warrants/

2. Gold & Silver Warrants Index (GSWI) Update  http://www.munknee.com/2011/06/gold-silver-warrants-index-gswi-update/

3. Buying Gold & Silver Company Warrants is Easy & Profitable – Here’s How (and Why!)  http://www.munknee.com/2011/06/buying-gold-silver-company-warrants-is-easy-profitable-%e2%80%93-here%e2%80%99s-how-and-why/

Enjoy and profit."

Thank you for writing these articles.  I found them super informative and very good reading.

I do have one question for  you though....

I read the "The "Secret" World of  Gold & Silver Company Warrants", the other day and I noticed that the CUSIP numbers for SNXXF and SDXXF were not correct.  At the bottom of your article, you have where people can add comments....  Well, I submitted a comment with the correct CUSIP numbers and my comment was never published.  I'm just wondering why not?

For those who are wanting the correct CUSIP numbers, I posted them on the Yahoo message board here:

http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_S/threadview?m=te&bn=122905&tid=4&mid=4&tof=2&frt=2#4

Anyway, I really do appreciate the articles and I did learn a lot by reading them.

@bluesky

Gidday Bluesky.......I have to thank you for the info you have posted here. Have been intrigued with the warrant trade particularly since they are not prone to the beat down the shorts have on common shares.....or at least this is my understanding. I've been known to be incorrect.

By the way I see we are sharing the same town as home......that is cool. I'm out at Hurds lake.

Hurd's Lake - off Burnstown Rd. I'm on the other side towards Douglas.

Yes the warrants are a great way to really see what's happening.  When the commons go down and warrants rise I feel there is quiet accumulation and when commons go up and warrants lag time to sell commons and buy warrants.

I've done this but since I'm not short term I only do this when I need funds and I don't want to lose my position.

Good luck to everyone this week.

Looking At SStorm Too

Well, I like this company for the reasons laid forth here, and I'm thinking I'm gonna play mostly long for this.

Curious to know what anyone's thoughts are as to an entry point this week, given the debt deal drama......or do you all see it best to get in already?

Thanks and peace....

Sandstorm getting attention.

Positive mention on Market Call Mon. BNN James Hodgins 1.40 pm and an article on Bullion Bulls on warrants.  Volume in US is doubled from last week.  I don't think it will fall too much as it hasn't since I got started last Dec.

Nibble your way in and you won't go wrong.

The management in this company is so highly regarded they can pick and chose who to go with plus they are less affected by miner suppression and seem to follow price of gold.

James Hodgins talked about his company being market neutral and that SG was one of their best holdings.  His smile was ear to ear so that says it all for me.

Canadians have a leg up here as they are familiar with Nolan Watson and the warrants are easier for them to convert but the commons are a terrific play on gold's future.

I have a lot of both so am coming from a converted (pun) position.

Do the warrants contain an early call provision? Thanks.

Early Call Provision

This has been widely discussed on Stockhouse and I think the answer is no.  I think the only concern was if a dividend were to be paid warrant holders would not receive nor would they have a say in a takeover although their warrants would still stand.

SG will list on NYSE in the next 12-18 months.

You could always call the company.  Apparently they are quick to respond.

Thanks for the info......it was very helpful in getting some more angles on SG.  Already hold SLW and I like their approach.

Sandstorm a great company

Held well through the recent downturn and will be included in the TSX S&P top 30 as of Friday. 19th.

Down a little from the recent high but not by much.  Definitely seems to follow gold as opposed to miners.

@Blue Sky

thanks for the news.....

i was watching it through this downside too.......of course still a ways to go in that regard, but it's held it's own, although i thought or hoped, rather, it would edge a bit more to the upside with gold than it has so far

you into Sandstorms' energy and metals division at all?

Finally an Earnings Report of Sorts....

http://www.sandstormgold.com/i/pdf/SSL-Q2-2011.pdf

I was wondering when we would get some kind of Q2 report from them, since they recently began taking some profits finally from some gold sales.  Their report does indicate some profit, which, judging by the recent action on the price of the stock, (up .10 today, which is quite the move from the basement where it had been lurking of late), is quite welcome.

Make of the unaudited report what you will, it's nice to see some upward motion in any case

Sandstorm have the same biz model as FNV see video

Franco Nevada recently moved from the pinks to the NYSE.

CEO of FNV discusses biz model,  safety of stock and increasing dividends if there is no more promising investments.

"Once we buy a royalty ... we don't have to spend another dollar after that," says CEO David Harquail, "so we don't have the same issues as an operating company that has to spend money building and operating mines."
