QUOTES OF THE DAY
Bigot: One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion that you do not entertain. Ambrose Bierce
Thou camest out of thy mother’s belly without government, thou hast liv’d hitherto without government, and thou mayst be carried to thy long home without government, when it shall please the Lord. How many people in this world live without government, yet do well enough, and are well look’d upon? Miguel de Cervantes
Natural ability without education has more often attained to glory and virtue than education without natural ability. Cicero
Instead of giving money to found colleges to promote learning, why don’t they pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting anybody from learning anything? If it works as good as the Prohibition once did, why, in five years we would have the smartest race of people on earth. Will Rogers
When an American says that he loves his country, he means not only that he loves the New England hills, the prairies glistening in the sun, the wide and rising plains, the great mountains, and the sea. He means that he loves an inner air, an inner light in which freedom lives and in which a man can draw the breath of self-respect. Adlai Stevenson

@ Puck- Alan Watts is terrific, still have Tao and the Watercourse Way from 35 years ago.
And I hope all my good friends at TFRM catch the wave.
I have that same feeling!...I am using the "DPH indicator" to base that feeling on!...Look at that...our Friend's indicator now is at 1646...WOW!...It's great to see you back DPH!!!...

Bag Of Gold
greetings...hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
working as usual here.. but that's not a bad thing these days.
peace!! ![]()
Thanks...and very nice to see you around also ![]()
I had some PC issues this a.m. and couldn't get my computer turned on for whatever reason until about 30 minutes ago. I rarely turn my computer off and let is sleep at night. I don't know if it's true but I've read that it's better for your computer not to do lots of on/off if you use it during the day extensively to save it from the starts/stops that are tougher on the entire system supposedly.
Whatever the case may be, I turned it off last night and I couldn't get it to turn on at all. Nothing, no lights, signals, tones, beeps...zilch. I finally resorted to pulling all the power plugs out for everything to de-energize the entire system to give it a electrical reboot....and it worked
.
I'm not sure why that happened but at least I know what to do if and when it happens again. Totally de-energizing some electronic instruments is a simple and sometimes easy fox for whatever reason. Taking the battery out of my cell phone at times (rarely) because it's jammed up and slow or whatever always works 100% of the time.
Howdy...nice to see you and peace right back at ya' ![]()
I just cracked open a bottle of some local red. Here ya' go, on the house...

is it increasing?...When sentiment for PMs increases...I do notice that the number of bacon posts increases too...& I'm sure Eric O would agree!...So I will start it off...to get everyone in the mood!!!...
LOL!!!...

And my favorite...
As she was walking out the door he yelled, "I hope you die a slow and painful death!"
So she turned around and
replied "So now you want me to stay?"2 can play at that game DPH.

i hijacked the Ayn Rand thread. i'm thinking of renaming it. heck, i'm thinking of starting my own cult. can't say much about it - still in early development, but its going to be expensive to join:-)
