...I now await your reciprocal clip(s) of Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, etc, etc saying equally inane things in 30 second sound bites, to show that you're "non-partisan".
Seriously, this clip has given me pause in my hopes that there is any "hope" for this country. But I'm always going to be suspicious of anyone who posts 30 second videos of either party saying anything:)
No offense intended. Just seems like a whole lot of prepared "Mud"slinging has appeared in the first 48 hours of his selection.

No need, they make inane comments virtually every time they open their mouths.
Seriously, I have pretty much lost hope for this country at least as far as the upcoming election is concerned. I know Obama is hopelessly inept and crooked, but I simply cannot see Romney as different in any significant way. I read a poll somewhere recently that said something in the neighborhood of 60% of registered Republicans are so dissatisfied with Romney they plan on staying home and not voting.
during the 2009-2011 gold bull market the upsloping support line was tested every six months.
Now we are in a bear market the downsloping resistance line gets tested every six months ( so far aug 11 and feb 12) this line will be tested again at around $1650 very soon. that test will fail and we will head down to make new lows for this bear market.
At its present rate of enrichment, Iran will have 250 kilograms of 20-percent grade uranium, exactly enough to build its first nuclear bomb, in roughly six weeks, and two-to- four bombs by early 2013, debkafile’s military and intelligence sources report. Hence the leak by an unnamed Israeli security source Sunday, Aug. 12, disclosing Iran’s progress in developing the detonator and fuses for a nuclear warhead which can be fitted onto Shehab-3 ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel. http://www.debka.com/article/22271/Iran-can-build-an-N-bomb-by-Oct-1-Cairo-coup-hampers-Israeli-action

My analyst brain is awake early this morning... sorry...
I am also intrigued by the Salvadore Dali image. I have believed for a few years now that artists (poets, musicians, painters) are the secular prophets, showing us glimpses of the future as their creative spirits intuit what is coming down the pike and they write and create images to revlect what they see, sense, adn feel.
Dali was foretelling the postmodern condition as were all the artists of the surrealist period, echoing Pilate's famous sarcastic question "What is truth?" Dali chose the clocks because the concept of time bridges the gap between essentialism and constructionsim-- that we can't know what is concrete or real, or that things are not what they seem.
Seems that "truth" has to be taken on faith. We like to think that Dali's work was about the world of dreams or fantasy, but the term surrealism means "above-real." Dreams are a very different thing.
How appropriate to the monetary system we have now! What is real money? How much is a fiat dollar worth. Dali could have used fiat dollars instead of clocks. There are some of his works in gold...interesting medium that he chose.
Hillsie: You suckered me into clicking on that story. I was really hoping it was true also... a very creative article. Thanks.

So....are there any farmers here that are jumping for joy that the Bummer and the gooberment is going to be buying all you meats at reduced prices this winter when you can't afford to feed them and give it away for you? I thought all these prices were coming down first???? What's this have to do with the price of gas you say? Hmmmm....maybe to the farmers "no corn for you!" ;) We need it to keep those gas prices in check while keeping the voting peasants happy.
President Barack Obama will announce on Monday that the Department of Agriculture intends to buy up to $170 million of pork, lamb, chicken and catfish to help support farmers suffering from the drought, a White House official said.
The food purchases will go toward "food nutrition assistance" programs, like food banks.
The president will also direct the Department of Defense to "encourage" its vendors to speed up purchases of lamb, pork and beef and freeze it for later use. ...MORE

I try to buy stuff when the prices are lower too. Somehow I think Zero has a different motive though. He will buy low and then tell the farmers how much lower prices would be if it weren't for his buying.

That story does not make sense at all. If the farmers' produce is ready for market or just about, and the market knows that there will be shortages because of drought etc., why is it better for the farmer to sell at a lower price to the government (it would have to be a lower price in order to fulfill the argued win-win for the taxpayer) than to let the market price the produce - most likely at a higher profit margin.
It seems to me, that Mr. O is trying to cap the natural market price discovery.
Further, by encouraging the Department of Defense to influence vendor behavior and planning, it signals that he is worried about the viability of the supply chain for his war machine, aka his ability to feed his troops.
It looks like an attempt to front-run a shortage, using fluffy arguments, to the benefit of the army and his social disarmament programs (people usually find it wise not to bite that hand that feeds them), so he can keep his machines running. I doubt that it will be very beneficial to the farmers.

At the health department, they were told that all the shareholders of the company would have to provide chest X-rays, and, in the most surreal demand of all, stool samples.
