"Off Main Street: The SpeakEasy/BackRoom"
Eric Rosengren, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, called on the Fed to launch an aggressive, open-ended bond buying program that the central bank would continue until economic growth picks up and unemployment starts falling again.
A new program, Mr. Rosengren said, should be "at least of the magnitude that we've had before." The difference, he said, should be that a new program shouldn't set a fixed amount or end-date.
Hmmm. Wonder where we have heard that from?

I think we were discussing the HUI. Could bode well and he's definitely not a cheerleader.
I also strongly believe that one of the reasons the HUI looks better than the price of gold, in terms of the chart, is because of the severe undervaluation of the mining sector as a whole. The miners are down at a level that shows extreme and truly remarkable undervaluation.
Since the 10th of May, the lows on the HUI have been tested three times. What is happening is we have seen very large, well-heeled players coming in and buying the HUI very aggressively on dips below the 400 level. Every time the bears push it below the 400 level, the large scale buying overwhelms them.
We will have to wait and see, but what I am saying is we cannot rule out the possibility of a big move taking place during the month of August. We saw a big move just ahead of summer in 2011, which stunned participants, so yes, anything is possible.”

murphy, there is absolutely no need for The Fed to QE until the crb number goes and stays under 270. Anything else is just noise.

What doesn't kill you might just make you stronger - and long story short, I think they might have gotten that nerve and sent it packing. Hope all is well here abouts, and I won't even pretend to catch up. Great to be alive - gotta say!
Yay for Xty!!!![]()
I am so happy to hear you are on the mend- you have very much been in our thoughts, and I can tell you that your presence has been sorely missed! Hope you have plenty of pain management substances on hand ;-)
Welcome back to the asylum.
It's nice to see you back again!...You have no idea how much you have been missed!...Get your strength up...& you go girl!!!...

Bag Of Gold
Welcome back. Coincidently, this just came into my inbox as well.
Now you know why she hasn't been blogging. She has taken a new nom de plume, Aunty Acid. I am sure she will be using these on Main Street shortly.

Epic Fail, murph.
Can't see any of them.
They're on my machine, I'll try an alternative means![]()
Xty's return has me in a peculiar party mood ![]()
Fed official wants nominal GDP inflation targeting as predicted by @JamesGRickards http://nyti.ms/NaDL5h
Jim Rickards @JamesGRickards
@steveliesman interview w/ #BostonFed Prez on inflation "targeting" getting lots of play. It's good journalism, but seems like more. #Signal
I'm a peculiar sort of Rickards hater.
Loved his book. My Financial Repression Thread is largely based on his work, and the independent parts of it reach basically the same conclusions, i.e. that they will print whatever it takes to get Nominal GDP moving.
BUT...I refuse to follow his twitter feed any more. Getting Republican Party talking points, and Religious Conservative talking points mixed in with my gold/currency stuff just ain't worth it. I've stolen what I like from Rickards, and fuck all on the rest. ( Actually, I'm feeling more and more that way as far as the entire precious metals blogosphere goes. This blog included.)
Like Egg Shen says in "Big Trouble in Little China": "We take what we want, and leave the rest. Just like your salad bar."

gOOd fight lovely ~~ welcome back

this may be the sexiest pic of you ive sEEn...
miSSed you dearly.
to the quantam physics folks it comes back to a bear shEEting and trEE faLLing in the wOOds for me. my mind is the guide, my body along for the ride. just tryin to kEEp the glide.
and murphy ~~ bro ~~ i thought my jack rocks miSS a few nights back was bad....
I just take what i think is going to help me in the short mid and long term. If everyone want's to talk their crap so be it. I personally don't care. I've come to the point that there are few good/great anlaysis out there and don't listen to too many people. I've been burnt and i have been rewarded. Now is the time for me to take all my valuable lessons and harness the energy and ensure I come out ahead.
The KWN people, including rick rule say shit..they pull it out of their ass but they really don't know. Rickards seems to know. so he's on my list. maybury has been good too..not always but better then most. I hear you. I want to do well and be happy and if Rickards says some stuff about GOD once in a while im ok with it as long as he doenst' try to get me to belive in his religion
As far as the blog itself most pull shit out of their ass too..probally me too. I don't know much, i m just trying to make enough money so i can enjoy my life. I wouldn't take it up the poo poo shoot if they offered me more money, but im ok watching rickards and some others who are right even if they talk their own poo poo once in a while.
I'm totally embarrassed. When I copied a bunch of pics out of an email and posted it, they showed up originally. I guess it's back to remedial posting for me. Sorry all. Btw, tell Libromark or whatever the f's name is, the same for me.

i read and understood GL's post about quantum mechanics, but now can't understand the post i wrote. it must be that i am no longer in the same quantum state :-)
oh, the Boardie Barn (is it still there?) i was in college, got a summer job restoring homes on Dune Road - i was just cheap labor. promised my parents that i would have a ton of money for the next semester of school :-) ! i looked like a California surfer boy, in fact the locals always assumed at first that my friend and I were from Cali - we are both Wisconites, with fair hair, considered blond out there. we loved to make fun of the city boys, after we realized how they stereotyped us midwesterners. instead of denying such things as cow tipping, and worse, we readily admitted doing all that, and provided details. (you do remember the sheep jokes?)
anyway, it was a great summer, though i had trouble affording the gasoline to drive back home. all those workday lunches at the Italian (or Jewish) deli, strawberry daiquiris at the beach, and "buckets of bottles" of beer at the Barn, cut into my college savings.
i believe i WAS a Budman at the time, and even that seemed expensive. the beer prices in NY were twice that of WI, maybe still are.
anyway, welcome back XTY. i will sniff some clove oil, then lavendar, and project the serenity your way. because i can't do the other stuff until later :-)
and you are really going to hate this...
