Once again masked hooligans

Once again masked hooligans emerged from the far corners of Earth to raid Lower Trestles. Near death collisions, sword fights, and helicopter 360ʻs added to the insanity on that Friday the 13th. The 2nd annual Lowers Raid was truly taken to the next level! We encourage anyone to follow suit by raiding your own local break and keep the movement alive! til next year…

Swing it back to some well

Swing it back to some well trodden roads with this video coming up. For those that have read his book, skip ahead to part 3. For those that haven't, take in the whole speech. Some interesting thoughts at the end and also some q and a time to digest as well. Enjoy.

Rickards next prediction is that we have war with Iran by the end of the year.   I think he moved up the date.

Nominal GDP targeting

Everyone's analysis has been so off, Europe falling apart, Greece, Germany leaving the EURO...nothing has occurred and rickards has called it.

He called ECB rate cut months ago, he called NO QE last year when almost everyone was calling it.  He called for war with IRAN-now after the election, and now he's called for QE which will be called by another name "nominal GDP targeting"--open ended QE -no time or quantity.  they will buy when they see fit, stocks, mortages, etc.  will he be right? will see.

Most seem to be ignoring his analysis, most just call what they think but it's not grounded in analysis.  KWN keep calling for collapse, he said it's coming but not now.  You can go broke buy listing to all these people who call blue sky calls. why would everyone keep listening to these folks and not check.  Even though the EURO USD overshot, rickards said it did and that just gives more reason for FEDS to print.

No one has said nominal GDP targeting--if they do what he is saying (and he says Janet Yellin has layed out the case already) then he will hit another win.  People have to watch closely what people say. Look and listen to their words and watch the follow-through. Keep a check list, becasue you will need to know who's been right and who's been wrong so you will now when to sell.

RICKARDS LATEST

http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-ticker/bernanke-ready-throw-towel-i...

It's amazing that everyone on these boards, for the most part, ignore this guy...i follow everyone's word very very closely.  People want to hear what they want to hear and not listen to the right ones.  It's an art....

QE and Corn

There are similarities between Quantitative Easing and Genetically Modified Corn.

First, thanks for the Rickards vids. He makes good sense that QE will not be the name of the next money dump and timing/amount will not be announced, occurring on an as-needed, where-needed basis of distribution. All very logical and sounds about right with what we’ve seen.

Instead of continuing the ‘outed’ QE title, "Nominal GDP Targeting" fits right into the description of the Fed's (new) methodology and sounds like a term that will make most people's eyes glaze over. You know, the ones (majority) that don't pay attention, don't watch, don't understand and don't care about the economy outside of their realm of hand-to-mouth existence and the next episode of American Idol.

This name change isn’t exactly a David Copperfield slight of hand, since the few that actually know about QE will also see the new name and know it for what it is. But of course the MSM will pronounce NO QE right on time to cover the austere politicos. The sheeple will think the government is finally being sensible and reducing the debt. Or will they? Are they looking for their own bailout with easy money? Possibly. Everybody wants a seat at the trough.

So, without another announcement of QE, we will hear nominal GDP targeting. In this strategy of course, the Fed is positioning itself as the ever-bearing Golden Goose. Be nice and maybe you get an egg. Criticize or fall from grace and your competition will get the egg and you get Lehman'ed or MFGlobal'ed. This strategy does many things, not the least of which, the Fed keeps it's power position right in the center of the universe and all those with their hands out are beholden. Praise to the almighty Fed. But the Central Banks and BIS are starting to show great consternation with Benny and the US systems... but that is another story. I dropped that 'Kracken' vid and Washington's Blog link last night over on Main. Another story, another rabbit hole.

Anyway, with this "nominal targeting", all the usual bankster suspects and manufacturing cronies will be, if they behave, covered by the Fed/PPT/ESF... but the Fed won't announce to whom or when funds will be given. The public won't know either. That, and "nominal" does not include them. It won’t even trickle down to them. Instead, it will continue to trickle out of their pocket.

So, it (NGDPT) resembles QE but since it will be spread among the criminal class it'll behave more like the infamous Troubled Asset Relief Program. Not only are the banks bailed out but also the politicians will get their cut. Sounds like a perfect scenario for a continuation of a sustainable Totalitarian Oligarchy. Until it's not.

I'll go ahead and create a new, more honest acronym for this expected Fed program. Not QE, not TARP, not NGDPT. Maybe something along the lines of CO-OPT (Continuation of Oligarch Payment Trust). The citizens will pay for this with their tax dollars and further suffer the invisible inflation tax of devalued currency. But slowly, so that they think it's just the nature of nations and economic cycles taking their course before the “recovery” right around the corner. The fat hogs of Wall Street and Washington (FHOWSAW) will line up at the money trough, get their snouts buried in the new feed and gobble up all assets.

Which brings me back to QE and corn. Pardon me… this post is becoming like an operation twist.

Quite a few years ago my hunting buddies and I leased 2500 prime hunting acres from International Paper. Over the years, after our planted peas were all eaten down to the ground by mid-season, we would sweeten the area with corn, which we would buy in 50-pound bags and spread around open areas and shooting lanes. This ‘deer candy’ worked like a charm (and was/is legal). Called 'baiting'. This kept most of the deer in the area instead of them leaving for another field away from our property.

One year the corn supplier changed. The bag design was also different but none of us paid any attention. We spread it around as usual. But something different happened. Not a single kernel was eaten. The deer wouldn’t touch it. Many places showed evidence of scratching the corn around and in a few places we saw evidence of half-eaten-spit out piles. It wasn’t hard to imagine why these regurgitated clumps had furious scratching all around them. It was like the deer were furious at being offered this inedible, fake corn.

After doing a bit of research and talking with the corn supplier, we found out the difference between this new corn and the corn we’d always used. This was GMO corn. None of us had ever heard of GMO foods or corn before.  The deer themselves tipped us off. The turkeys wouldn’t touch it either, nor would all the wild birds. Usually the corn was a feast for a myriad of animals, but not this stuff. We never bought or used that corn again.

That GMO corn we unknowingly laid out for deer was, after several weeks, was finally eaten… but not by deer. The tracks and signs of ‘rooting’ informed us which creatures ate the stuff. Every last kernel was gobbled up by wild hogs. They’ll eat anything.

Instead of nature’s un-fooled-around-with corn being shared by all the deer, squirrels, turkey, songbirds and other little creatures, the GMO (fiat) corn was only consumed by the pigs. The pigs got bigger and fatter and all others had to fend for themselves.

There is a connection between GMO corn and the next iteration of QE,’TARP and NGDPT spread out amongst the bankster and crony class…  just as there will probably be a similarity with what happens to greedy hogs when they stay at the trough too long and get too fat.

Great discussion today

And some really great, informative posts today-  especially nice to see GoldMania pop his head in the door!

Rickards is scary good...  one really has to wonder if this guy is a. just that freakin' smart, or b. he has incredibly well-placed little birdies who whisper in his ear.  If the answer is B, then it would suggest that this thing is far more pre-planned and scripted than I have heretofore been willing to believe.

Either way, ignore him at your peril.  War with Iran?  Long-dated UCO calls.  Imminent QE? Long dated gold and silver calls.  But what are you guys with the miners going to do?  Will the rise in metals be thwarted for you by the big hit the stock market would take if war comes to pass?  I'll let those smarter than I sort that one out...

Larry, that is one heck of a story about the animals and the GMO corn.  Thanks for posting it!  We have been planting nothing but heritage seeds (corn, tomatos, beets, you name it) for everything and we have seen two differences.  One is that virtually every veggie that is natural/heritage is far smaller, even when we grow it properly, than the modified stuff you get in the store.  The volume difference is really striking.  The second thing we know for certain is that the taste of the heritage veggies is far, far better- rich, full, nice scent, basically everything you want.  We just made fresh salsa with tomato, cilantro, onion, garlic, and all of it picked from our garden in the last few days.  Holy Schnikees!  I can make a meal out of that stuff by itself.  Was even better accompanied by a Sam Adams...
