Constitutional Deception

Article 1. Section 7. Congress shall make any law it pleases, regardless of whether the citizens were lied to, deceived or otherwise misled into supporting its passage.

At 1:30 of the clip above, noted that The Esteemed Leader of The United States says this: "No, George. You can't just make up that language and decide that that's called a tax increase". All along, through the "debate" over The Affordable Health Care for America Act, proponents claimed that the government mandate requiring every U.S. citizen to purchase health insurance or face stiff penalties, was NOT a tax increase. It was a premium for a benefit, NOT a tax increase. In upholding  and affirming the constitutionality of The Act today, The U.S. Supreme Court allowed the insurance mandate as constitutional precisely because IT IS a tax.

So, by doing so, The U.S. Supreme Court has just institutionalized and approved the license of politicians to lie, deceive and mislead their constituents in order to pass whatever legislation they desire.

The argument will now be: If these politicians did this to you, then they should be held accountable and summarily voted out of office and banned from public life. Your opportunity to affect his change will come in 131 days. Will you take it? What steps are you willing to take to make this happen?

I fear, however, that anything you and I do will matter little. America is rapidly fraying and today's ruling unravels things even further.

The metals are, of course, up against it this morning. If you haven't yet read this (http://www.tfmetalsreport.com/blog/3940/lookout) or this ( http://www.tfmetalsreport.com/blog/3963/lookout-part-ii), please do so immediately. It is looking increasingly likely that the triple bottom in silver will soon fail. IF stops below 26.25 are tripped (maybe on The Globex this afternoon), silver may rapidly descend toward 25 and then continue, over the next couple of weeks, down toward 22 in a final washout move. Please be prepared for this and do not panic if it happens.

Gold is still in its 1530-1630 range but it is, of course, subject to a breakdown, too. Be vigilant.

Hang in there and don't be surprised by anything.

Socialism is the distraction

<<Socialism is the distraction. What you are entering into in America is an extended period of fascism. It is more obvious on a daily basis.>>

Yes, we are entering a period of increased fascism. But providing health care for more people is not a marker along the way.  Providing health care for all citizens is a sign of a benevolent society, not a malicious society.  I know many of you will see malicious motives in Obamacare, but I think that's a real stretch.

Yes, I'm afraid so.  All the pieces are in place; just needs an appealing leader with a "vision" and a unifying theme.

Fed Up With The Federal Government - Still Unemployed

So, let me add up what is my case now and I feel I am not alone.

1.)  I am unemployed and have been for about seven months after working a job, out of college, for over 20 years.

2.) I will now have to pay penalty to the government for lack of having health insurance when I cannot afford it to begin with.
No thanks to a farce of a court referred to as a Supreme Court. I think them now to be nothing but puppets giving into
political pressure. So much for the purpose under the Constitution.

3.) Now, what silver I have collected is going to be worth a huge amount less and there is nothing to convince me it is going
to be worth holding before inflation erases the increased value.  Has anyone considered that silver could be worth $50 an
ounce and Coca Cola could cost $3.00 a bottle. So, what has one really gained here if the scenario is true?

Sorry about conveying such a negative tone here, but I am just fed up.  Odd thing was I wanted to use some silver to possibly buy some health insurance, but even that is questionable at this point.

@California Lawyer - Thank you

While I remain disappointed, very concerned and wary, I trust that your being a lawyer means you know a little bit more about how the law works than I do, and I hope you are right with the silver lining you see.

California Lawyer, myself being a new immigrant in this once great country, I know nothing about this commerce clause pendulum. Can you explain it please in couple words? I ask you because I know I could google it, but I really like how you write.

socialism vs. fascism

Socialism and fascism are two sides of the same authoritarian coin...both are methods by which a small elite dupe the populace into giving up their power to the central state.

---------------------------------------

Semantics. Either way we're f*#ked. Looks more like Socialism to me at this point, with a final objective of total control.

Just to be clear, and this is a sincere question, if conservatives "fight back" would you consider this to be a "fascist reaction"? I'll respond later as I'm off to work to support those who...well, you know:)

You are wrong!

Canada follows the IDSA guidelines to the letter (Infectious disease society of america).

Two stage testing - Elisa followed by Western Blot. 30 days treatment max regardless of length of infection etc.

MarDx strain B31. This is an east coast strain and not BC (west) strains.

Test is rubbish and so many go undiagnosed. The systems fails these people. They have no option but to go to another country to save their lives. Centralized control is always bad - be it Europe - be it Canadian health care - be it Obamacare.

Trust me, I know everything there is to know about this issue. I have been fighting "the man" for 6 years. This is what initially "woke me up" - I could not believe what what happening. The levels and layers of bureaucracy are impossible. Those who are really in charge are not elected. There is an agenda in play. I then saw Zeitgeist and then Schiff and I started connecting the dots. Then went down the rabbit hole. All these dots keep connecting.

It is ALL about control of you and me and everyone else. I wish I was wrong - but been at this full time for too long. I could tell you some stuff you would not believe.

Show Me ONE Way It Is Helping Anyone

Oh please, how  in the world can you possibly see Obamacare as positive?

He forces a law through the system without one single Republican vote after running on a platform of partisan work to improve America.

How is it going to help anyone?

What good is not being denied for a pre-existing condition when you allow the insurance companies to raise their premiums so high you cannot afford the insurance?

How is it going to help the millions of people out of work who cannot afford health insurance when they have to pay a penalty out of funds they are barely holding on to for survival?

Heck, one of the first things the administration did was cut a deal with the pharmaceutical companies? Need proof, just Google it and read.

Also, just to note, I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. Honestly, I see their party dogmas, and unwillingness to work towards the good of the country, almost as contemptible as the decision of the court today.

cpn, you said printing money

cpn, you said printing money was one of 3 things which will extinguish debt.  That can not be when our "money", a currency note, is defined as debt.  That only increases the debt.  I feel like I'm missing something in your statement because you know this.

"Debt cannot extinguish debt only money can." was the exact phrase on ZH which made me learn to distinguish just what money is.

Why Obamacare will fail...

Per Rothbard:

"

Our very real medical crisis has been the product of massive government intervention, state and federal, throughout the century; in particular, an artificial boosting of demand coupled with an artificial restriction of supply. The result has been accelerating high prices and deterioration of patient care. And next, socialized medicine could easily bring us to the vaunted medical status of the Soviet Union: everyone has the right to free medical care, but there is, in effect, no medicine and no care.

Bury your metals. LOL

Buying silver at 10 and selling at 15 is still one hell of a profit. Buying gold at $1200 and selling some at $1400 ain't bad either. Haven't done that for a while now but bring it on- I'm not scared.

The "tax" you're up in arms over (and I did read your rant) is simply a means of encouraging (it's only a couple of hundred dollars for heavens sake) those who choose not to have health insurance, to get it (how Draconian)... besides I thought you guys hated freeloaders (oh I see, not if it means missing a chance to demonize the President).

@SRV

From Roberts:

The Affordable Care Act's requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax. Because the Constitution permits such a tax, it is not our role to forbid it, or to pass upon its wisdom or fairness.

I see tax mentioned twice in this segment alone. How is this a simple talking point?

Benevolence

@Lifeispain

A benevolent society provides healthcare for it's citizens.  It does that by having a culture that is based on a value system that says it is my personal responsibility to work hard and provide for myself, and help those less fortunate than myself, generously, without expecting return, in whatever way I can.  It does that by being a vigorous free market system that builds wealth so that it has the resources for people to freely choose the type and amount of healthcare they desire, and to help their fellow citizens as they are lead to.

A malevolent society confiscates money from the productive members of society, and at the very best, wastes the confiscated resources by misallocating many resources to people who don't need, don't deserve or don't want certain types of healthcare, inevitably through a corrupt, bribery-riddled system.

The problem with statists is they point to true flaws in an otherwise basically good  system to institute a glorious new system based on a utopian view of government (who, btw is composed of PEOPLE) and invariably ends with disaster and also, tyranny.

I sold some silver today, in case anybody cares. I'm buying back at lower prices. My DCA is low and I have enough that I can gamble with it. My core is still intact and it won't be touched.

Actually I believe i'm one of the first too say that today on this board, and while you may be right that I regurgitated it from a talking head, its also a fact that the Obam
a lawyers argued it as such otherwise the scotus couldn't have upheld it as such.

I don't care if the penalty is only 1$, the govt is still forcing me to spend it against my will and in a fashion I don't agree with.
