I'll go try to educate myself on the topic. 

Sorry if I inadvertently brought up a controversial topic. The quote just seemed more mysterious to me than controversial.

I have done Biblical studies on them.  I do not have all of my notes handy right now.

The Nephilim/Giants were the product of  angels who left heaven (Genesis 6:2, Jude 6-7) and mated with human women.

If you read the footnotes in your Bible they will likely try to play the "sons of God means the line of Seth" card.  This is bunk and is not substantiated otherwise by scripture.  I am convinced this is part of an agenda to hide the fact that this will happen again.  IMO, this will be the great delusion in 2 Thes 2.  "sons of God" being angels is backed up elsewhere in Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7

These angels were not thrown out but "left their own habitation" as it says in Jude 6.  Jude 7 associates their sin with that of Sodom and Gomorrah.  They are not part of the demonic realm going about the earth leading man into sin and rebellion but are "reserved in everlasting chains under darkness".  You see the same language in 2 Peter 2:4.  Notice how Peter links the "angels that sinned" with the old world and Noah, the flood, Sodom & Gomorrah (like Jude).  In 1 Peter 3:19-20 we read that Christ went and preached "unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah"

Some argue that when you read in Gen 6:9 that Noah "was perfect in his generations" it means that his seed was the only one left that had not been corrupted by the angels mating with women.  But this is subjective.  If Noah's seed was perfect then so was Methuselah's (his grandfather) and he died in the flood or in the year of the flood.  I suppose it could be argued that Methuselah died before the flood in the same year.

Now understanding that let's jump to Matt 24:37 where Jesus says "as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be"  Some will say well 24:38 says they were eating and drinking, marrying, etc.  This just means that people will be going about their day just as they always were.  However,  haven't we always been doing that?  So what is the significance of mentioning Noe (Noah)?  From our previous research we see that angels left heaven and mated with women.  Now that's something you don't see every day!  That sounds like a clue.    There is a large study that you can do between Daniel and Revelation that further bears this out but Daniel 2:43 gives the prediction of the last 4th kingdom "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."  This is talking about angels mixing with humans again.  The seed of men is DNA.  A video that may help you is if you go on youtube and search Mike Hoggard Triple Helix DNA.  Also watch his video called "The Mother of All Secrets".

I must say that my above post with the demon idol coming into our area brings up old memories.

We were on a holy land tour including Egypt back in the late 70's.  There were about 100 Christians from the USA and we even had our parents on their first overseas trip.  I was shocked when we were on the bus going to our hotel when I saw that the people had bought all the demon idols of Egypt and were taking them home as "souvenirs"  to place in their homes.   I said, "Moses delivered the Church of that day from the demon idols of this land and we have come back a few thousand years later and hauled them home".  I had one person say "sit down and be quiet, you are spoiling our fun".

About 20 years ago, five of us stayed in Jerusalem for a few days.  We found the Bible Lands Museum and decided to make a tour.  I was in the building for about five minutes, departed, and noticed that the real, original idols that had been left in Egypt have now been hauled to Jerusalem and set up.  The work and calling of Moses and the delivering of the people has been blighted. As I walked out of the building I looked up and said "Lord, when you return, may I have a day with a sledge hammer to go back into this home of idols, amen".

Even the Muslims who have their own idolatry problems would have their hammers to help. WAKE UP CHURCH.

It's not just the PMs this week - Oldest son rolled his bike and is in urgent care with a shoulder injury. Youngest son sent email an hour later telling me he is quitting college. Then in 20 minutes, I get an email flush after my last job interview.

"..you think that Job had nuthin' on you..."

I'd say "pray for me", but it seems with every prayer said lately, things get worse.

Thank you sir. I look forward to your insights as well. I think there is a purging going on now among His people. We are being made to get used to having only what we need and the excesses are being eliminated. A sign of things to soon come.

Have you ever gone to Mars Hill Church in Seattle and listened to Mark Driscoll preach?

This is a huge subject and you have just scratched the surface.  The scripture is full of warnings about these ""hidden reefs in your love feasts". A reading of Jude 5-19 is a starting place.  I have written several articles over the last 25 years on this subject and can send you to a site if you P.M. me.

I was teaching on the divided denominational systems in RSA in the early '80's and they gave me a book by Peter Whyte called "The King and His Kingdom" and I read it an knew quickly that the brothers in Africa were light years ahead of the Americans.  I brought dozens to my area and it caused a firestorm to this day.

House Churches are growing everywhere and it is a huge item in China even after the work done by Watchman Nee. I receive reports from the underground Church in the homes in China and they are seeing miracles like we have not seen since the early Church. If I write much more, we will have a firestorm here in "Thread of Faith" but the Gospel will not be held back as the tribulation approaches and the system finally sees it has been Poizied by more than just  TBN.

The best modern house church book to give aid to those in need is  "House Church"  @ www.NTRF.org     jmo

My wife and I moved to where we are now back in 2000 as denominationally-funded and appointed church planting missionaries.  We started a church in a small university town that centered on a weekly large group worship format for young adults and soon discovered how much of a resource hog and and non-reproducible our format was.  After about a year, and after connecting with some like minded planters, we felt led to start meeting in homes and apartments- anywhere conducive for the church to be together and discovered, simple, organic ways of being the church that wasn't so consumerist and market-driven.

So we've been doing house churches for about 10+ years now and have not looked back.  I have seen God do things in our midst in the house church that I would NEVER have seen had we stayed in our previous format.

Wolfgang Simson wrote  that house churches are "persecution-proof structures" in ​Houses That Change The World. ​ It makes me inclined to wonder why the West is suddenly discovering the house church and why they are exploding when persecuted countries have seen the greatest most miraculous outpourings of God's intervention and have been doing church in the home for generations.  In fact, house churches are present in the New Testament so the structure is nothing new, lest any think it's just the next, hot church planting model to come down the pike.

These days, I am watching my own denomination restructure for economic reasons.  I have known for some time even as I've mentored other planters that the big, huge, extravagantly-funded church planting model was unsustainable.  And we are all here on this blog because we see something coming down the road.  Maybe God is paring down his church, preparing it for leaner times.

Pretty sobering when you consider that the Church has historically flourished the most under times of persecution.
