Ra Ra

OMG, absolutely.

Now if you were rockin' those tights, that would be another story. Maybe this video idea is not so crazy.

re:Walmart

I'm speechless, dumbfounded, tongue-tied,  thunderstruck...  Which planet did you say those Walmarts were located?

I have to show my wife.   She might reconsider when she says to me "I am not going out with you dressed like that"  She doesn't feel comfortable when I do the absent minded professor look.

Walmart location?

Looks like the one I go to as infrequently as possible, for just those reasons. laugh

Wow! The one with shorts that says " I'm a lover like no udder" made me gasp.

They look like they're from the same Walmart or two different one's. The 4th pic from the bottom shows a car with a partial plate exposed. If you click on the pic I think it gets a tad bigger. If you look in the background you can see the same type of plate on a pick up truck. The plate appears to have the shape of the state in the center of it.

It's tough to make out, but I think one of you sharp tacks out there will solve the mystery location.

I'm guessing Tennessee.

Best post title of the year

A few hours ago I got my coffee and logged in to the main page to see what was cooking, and as is my habit I immediately scroll right and down to check the current comments box- see what is fresh and who is posting.

And I see a comment by Xty in the Speak, titled "Just a nipple"... for a moment, I thought Wow, things are getting pretty wild in this place!

IS7,  You are a braver soul

IS7,

You are a braver soul than I.   I was thinking about suggesting some possible locations for those Walmarts but decided not to.

Once upon a time, I made a joke about the southern states and learned that those old wounds are still very much alive.  A recent discussion on the Civil War reminded me of the same.  I successfully navigated my way onto one individuals ignore list over a joke.   There was no apologizing, no negotiating just a big fuck you.  WOW!   Was I ever schooled.

All that being said, I have visited the fine state of Tennessee.   Enjoyed great music, wonderful food (particularly the BBQ) magnificent hospitality etc...  However, my first guess would have been any number  of the states in either the Smoky Mountain Region or Ozarks region.

I just kicked myself in the nuts didn't I?

Walmart photo locations

If you click on the photos it will show you the location (state only) where the pics were taken:
Nude leggings CA
Scith happens IA
Was showing my husband in the iPad and he linked accidently while scrolling on the latter pic example.

I avoid Walmart as well. makes me feel like I could pick up MRSA some days. We have so many other stores to shop in my town, it is hard to understand why people shop there every week, esp for groceries. In the small towns there may be no other choice.
thanks Murphy, that was my laugh of the day.

Lol! laugh

Well.....I didn't mean to imply anything to anyone from the southern US states. I've never visited the south except for Florida and that's not really the so-called 'deep south'. And I've been to Arizona but that's the SW and nothing like the true south.

I thought that was the plate because I  recently saw an out of state powder blue plate and I think it was Tennessee.  I'll probably look up plates of the 50 states and see if I can match it up. I should probably quit while I'm ahead....or behind. blush

I am visually scarred

those tights - and then the comment - how long did it take me?  A very, unpleasant, long time.  I often wonder if people don't have mirrors in their houses, or just to be mean, trailers.  We once went for a golf holiday right near Henry Horton State Park, and not to point a finger or anything, but I have never seen worse, fried, unidentifiable food.  And it turned out we were in a dry county - which we somehow missed when arranging the trip.   But beer was found, and consumed.  It was almost our only source of food.  But the people were enormous to my eyes.  Must be other similar places.

Why did she pick that colour?  So many questions ...

IS7, As I remember you live

IS7,

As I remember you live on the opposite of the state that I do.  In between, those two glories metropolis's lies a grand expanse of hick towns and counties.    When you drive from NYC to Montreal, there is a sign on the interstate that says something like "Ain't shit for the next 100 miles, gas up and eat now"   After hours, you finally get to the lake city of Plattsburgh, NY and yes curiosity got the better part of me more than once.

You wonder if you've just entered the twilight zone or some long forgotten city in Alaska.     I was told there is a large state prison in town.  If you get really adventurous and take side roads up there, you find little farms and a great outback and people who might use their tractor to get electricity in their house.

Suffice to say those pictures could just as well be New York State, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts.   In every state in this nation, there are special places and special people.  Ain't we a colorful nation?    I would be surprised if I went to Walmart Mexico and saw characters like that.     US? Nahh

Let's face it IS7.  Any state

Let's face it IS7.  Any state that elects a carpet bagger senator from Arkansas named Clinton, ain't too sophisticated.

They might know how to handle the IRS much better in the Ozarks than we do in the big city.

Barry's Bay Itch

There is a town between Ottawa and Georgian Bay that became infamous in my life because of an episode involving a woman wearing tight stretch pants.  She would fit right in.

For IS7, found this photo on the internet of a guy with a five pound bass caught near there:

That's funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing about those extreme regional  differences being a lot closer than I realize at times  and not some distant locale.

To get off subject a bit, I find the regional differences in people pretty interesting considering they can happen in pretty close proximity to other adjoining metro area's and not just Hicksville.  My apologies to anyone who considers what I said a slap but in all honesty if your living a very rural lifestyle, more power to you and I envy the peace and quiet you enjoy on an everyday basis. Seriously.

Having said that...just look at how different people are in the US from region to region and sometimes very close to each other. Accents are something I find interesting (I know, how weird is that?) and the huge differences within a relatively small region.

For example, the area around New Jersey, NY and Philadelphia and throw in Boston. I'm probably missing some other accents I'm not aware of in that region, but just think how different the accents, mannerisms and 'culture'  are in those locations and how close they are in distance from each other. How could they be that much different? Heck, where I'm at ( Black Hole Sunwink) I sound like I'm from Southern Ontario I've been told so I guess that adds another accent into the mix.

I never really considered myself having an accent (who really does?) but it's so obvious that when I was younger (and single) I was in a bar in Florida one time and talking to a lovely bartender on a slow night and she actually pegged the city that I came from (Cygnus X-1, btw cool). I don't live in the city but about 20-30 minutes away. I was pretty flabbergasted she could guess that so accurately but after dealing with so many tourist's for so long it was a developed skill by her I guess.

Still, if you look at an American from some parts of the country, it's almost hard to believe they're from your own country. For instance, (my apologies to any swamp people on here wink)  when I watch some of those obscure cable shows while trolling through the TV late at night and I see some incredibly 'diverse' lifestyles from certain parts of the country that it's almost hard for me to believe they aren't acting in an extreme manner about extreme things. I can't be the only one who shakes their head at what they see on cable.

Regional differences fascinate me to a certain extent and they blow my mind the rest of the way. Just look at some of the differences from one side of town to another that anyone of us might live in. Certain slices of urban life are like you're on another planet or level of reality as you drive through certain area's. Socio-economic surreality.

Giant fish

Xty...thanks for posting that pic. That's a big bass for sure.

I caught a smallmouth last year in the spring that was probably close to 6 lbs.  21" and looked like a football.  Probably and honest and easy 5 .75 lb fish.  It was a real slob and came on a day when I caught a river migration/frenzy underway in this one spot I always check out when I'm there. I managed to land 20 bass in about an 80 minute period and only had 2-3 shake off.

Talk about fun! I landed 3 that were in the 4 lb range and a bunch of 3 lb'ers etc.  It was incredible action and ranked up there high with some of the memorable frenzies I've come across in various spots over the years.

Thanks for sharing that pic because I just totally daydreamed right there and brought that memory back to life and smiled upon it. smiley  I'm going fishing Tuesday a.m. (back permitting) except it'll be another steelhead effort on my part. Bass in about 2 weeks maybe. Weathers been dramatic in it's shifts regarding water temp.'s and species.

I have some awesome spots I intimately know over the past few decades.  I can't wait to go fishing now. Let's hope something like this happens again.

38"= approx. 20 lbs.    I'm pumped up to go right now cool

IS7, I have a New Yawk

IS7, I have a New Yawk accident and I can't hide it.  Grew up on eastern Lowng Island.   No better or worst than the folks in Bahston that drink wicked good beer at the bah and then drive home in their cah.   Whenever I go to the mid-west, mostly Minneapolis area, they know I'm not from those parts.  Ok, it doesn't help when I ask for ketchup put on my bagel and eggs.  Gives them something to talk about and giggle about for 10 minutes.  Hey glad I can entertain you.

Minnesota accident.  Ok, I think she over does it just a little bit.  sounds more like Fargo, North Dakota.
