BOG

Looks like it's just you and me. Spoke to Ferd, he's been busy making a garden. Like that's a full time jobwink. SWS, is miffed, rightly so, because a number of his posts disappeared of our misadventures. Pining posted a kick ass chart on Main St today. Did you catch it?

I'm around BOG

Just making a batch of cheese and sipping a cold one. I am more fired up for the metals than I have been in a long while- a whole bunch of things seem to be pointing to a nice run like we saw in March and April last year- maybe not so vertical, but a good solid run. Now if the miners can just wake up we will have the fixin's for a REAL party!

They can play games to an astounding degree, but true scarcity and market demand is a hard tide to hold back... And the sea always wins in the end.

Edit- Wassup Murph! Loved your story in the WTFDIK thread- thank you! And the flip-side of that question is, what will it take to awaken a critical mass of people and precipitate a tipping point?

The Butterfly Effect...

In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions, where a small change at one place in a nonlinear system can result in large differences to a later state. The name of the effect, coined by Edward Lorenz, is derived from the theoretical example of a hurricane's formation being contingent on whether or not a distant butterfly had flapped its wings several weeks before.

The miners had a rip snortin' day today!  We just need to string a few of those together to really get moving.

I'm not sure there is one answer for that one. One possible answer is that unless TPTB want them to awaken they simply wont. It will be a slow steady devaluation to zero. We have already lost 95% of the value of the dollar since 1913 and the population hasn't stirred yet.

The second way is I think we have to dissect it by segments of the (US) population.

First, 50% of the population doesn't pay income taxes and receives assistance of many types. As long as their life styles don't change they will remain in a quiet slumber. Even if they understand, they don't have the means or the inclination to want change.

Another portion have paid in their whole lives and are also receiving benefits as promised to them. They are capable of critical thought and they ARE waking up. They were promised a comfortable retirement, that they are not seeing. That can't get enough income from their savings and the goods they need to consume to live are increasingly more expensive everyday. Those with savings will wake up first.

The top 19% who don't have a clue about the Great Ponzi, have normalcy bias and think their life style will never change, will be next. I guess that will be the blow off top in prices.

We all know the top 1% already have everything in place for their safety.

Not much of a mint fan...prefer Velvet Hammers for the Derby and the Masters (next week).

UFester

PS.  2 scenarios developing here, IMO: 16.7% at risk versus parabolic gain from third phase of bull run.

1. The coming $1900 Au collapses the west (paper ponzi).  The resulting downdraft in all things completes a massive Au left shoulder and forms inverted head, circa 2008.  It should go no lower than $1400-1425 (-16.7%).  After forming right shoulder, Au breaks out and accelerates.

2. This shorter term ascending inverted head-and-shoulders (since 09/2011) marks the beginning of the accelerated rise.

Communist 'conspiracies' and booze like colloidal silver

I wish I still had time to read the comments on ZH. They are, from time to time, still pretty damn good -- esp. if one catches a thread with 'old-timers'.

I am fascinated by the stories of (and of course those told by) defectors from the (ex)Soviet bloc. I already posted a few here on TFMR, but there is an interesting compilation of intelligence/military officers who tried to come West -- with a long list here.

I realize we have plenty on our plates to worry about without imagining a Red Menace behind it all, but at the same time I am inclined to think that everything is connected to everything. Just as Lenin himself (and the idea of radical communism) was NOT a  creature native to Russia, why COULDN'T the global Illuminati/Rothschild conglomerate be operating through the Russian industrial/military/intelligence complex AS WELL as through Central Banks and vassals such as the Morgue?

On a completely unrelated note -- if anyone likes dessert wine, or sherry, I would highly recommend some of this:

Aside from the flavor, the wine is unique as an antibiotic:

"The Furmint grapes begin maturation with a thick skins, but as they ripen the skins become thinner, and transparent. This allows the sun to penetrate the grape and evaporate much of the liquid inside, producing a higher concentration of sugar. Other types of grapes mature to the point of bursting, however, unlike most other grapes, Furmint will grow a second skin which seals it from rot. This also has the effect of concentrating the grape's natural sugars. The grapes are left on the vine long enough to develop the "noble rot" (Botrytis cinerea) mold. Grapes are then harvested, sometimes as late as December (and in the case of true Essencia, occasionally into January)."

Just make sure you get '5 bushels' or  above (5 puttonyos) -- bushels signifying the quantity of raisin-like burst/sealed/sundried grapes per barrel.

For those seeking something truly unique (and of course with deep pockets), there is a next level as well: Aszu Essence

"Because of its enormous sugar content (balanced always though by tremendous acidity), often syrup-like texture and extremely low alcohol levels, Essencia is not really a wine in the conventional sense, but rather a unique elixir, the quintessence of the grape, with an almost supernatural concentration of taste and aroma. It's something that every wine aficionado dreams of tasting at least once, and to do so is likely to be a life-enhancing and never-forgotten experience."

I was going to include more wine porn, but these people seem to have very little knack for effective marketing... I found very few decent/enticing pics -- you'll just have to take my word for it that this stuff is great (Aszu, have yet to try the Essence).

All along the watchtower - - -

Buddhist-Banner-Depicting-Dizang-And-The"There must be some kind of way out of here,"

Said the joker to the thief,

"There's too much confusion,

I can't get no relief.

Businessman they drink my wine,

Plowman dig my earth

None will level on the line, nobody offered his word, hey"

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/jimi+hendrix/all+along+the+watchtower_20071... ]

"No reason to get excited,"

The thief, he kindly spoke

"There are many here among us

Who feel that life is but a joke

But you and I, we've been through that

And this is not our fate

So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late"

All along the watchtower

Princes kept the view

While all the women came and went

Barefoot servants, too
