Initial feedback on new site...

So, in looking over the new site, it doesn't appear there is a forum set aside for discussing the site itself. I'm not sure where to start a suggestion thread so I'll start it here.

Site should have a forum clearly meant for "meta" issues - i.e. discussing the site itself.
Posts should be editable after being submitted. Either for a short period of time (enough to correct typos, etc) or indefinitely.
When submitting a post the user is told to accept the "Mollom privacy policy". Not sure why users have to accept a third-party privacy policy to take part in this forum. The Mollom policy says that our e-mail address is being shared by TFMetalsReport with Mollom. The Privacy Policy here at TFMetalsReport says nothing about sharing our personal information with third parties. This needs clarification.

The privacy policy on this site should be timestamped, and all users should be notified upon log-in if the policy changes.

I see that this Stephanie Brail is a yogi, mystic healer and New Age wannabe psychic. Geez ... just when I was feeling comfortable that your advice and predictions are based in fact and reason I get this creepy feeling that things are about to take a weird turn.

Comment page Format suggestion

Reduce the vertical white space within each message so that not so much real estate is consumed. That would require fewer page turns and over time will allow us to browse thru the many comments a bit more quickly.

The font size, type, color defaults are excellent.

Why would you attack an administrator lady gaug, and an administrator who so far has proven so far fully solid in enforcing the turd law. She has no reason to need to respond to you, and I nominate you to be the first one banned from the Turd's new site. Dogfood and all others you are legitimate bug reportes but the lady is not contributing. You ad-homenim semantics are unwelcome. Can I get a second in the nomination for first to be banned?

Couple of things....

1. Apparently you can tip the hat to yourself. I tried and it worked. Granted I still only have one tip of the hat. LOL. Anyway, just thought I would point that out.

2 Also, is there a way to get continuity on posts? Like a way to see the reply or quote under the same post you replied or quoted? Unless I am missing a setting. This would be helpful.

Aside from that, thanks for the new playground!

No Worries!

Thank you, SilverBleve, but there's no reason to ban anyone over this - there may have been some confusion and I just want to clarify and reiterate: The site is still own and run by THE TURD. But The Turd needs helpers! I am the "creative" one hired to help with things like site design and whatnot. Just remember - we creative types are often a bit more "eccentric" than financial experts.

PS Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments today. It was very, very exciting to see the site go live after two months of non-stop hard work. We hope you like it!

Aside from that, thanks for the new playground!

1. It would take some additional programming to remove self-hat-tipping functionality - on Facebook you can also "like" your own comments so it did not seem like it would be a huge issue - someone would have to be extremely motivated to login under multiple accounts to "hat tip" themselves up to the Leaderboard. :-)

2. Turd specifically wanted a "flat" comment setting on the blog posts, to avoid the sort of back and forth bickering that goes on at other websites that enable comment nesting on blog posts. Here in the forums, though, you can absolutely change your comment view to "threaded" (i.e., "nested") by using the comment controls at the bottom of the forum page.

We are monitoring your feedback and are taking suggestions into consideration - we may not respond to every comment or suggestion but do know that they are being heard and are appreciated!

A mobile friendly theme for the forum and the blog would decrease the home quality time and increase my accuracy :)
