This Week with John and Steve

Another comprehensive update on The New Cold War that covers the rapidly deteriorating situation in Syria.

Again, please be sure to listen each and every week as this New Cold War is the single most dangerous situation since The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Here are the show notes from Mr. Batchelor's website:

Armageddon at Aleppo. Stephen F. Cohen, NYU, Princeton University, EastWestAccord.com

“…The bombardment of Aleppo entered a fifth consecutive day on Monday, after 95 people were killed in the east of the city on Sunday, according to doctors. A tally from local hospitals put the number of wounded at 398, including 61 children.

“What has happened over the last three days is indescribable,” said Mohammad Abu Rajab, a doctor in one of the largest medical centres in eastern Aleppo. “Words fail, pictures fail, everything fails.”

Abu Rajab’s hospital received 180 dead and wounded on Sunday, and six more dead on Monday morning.

“Imagine the dead lying in the corridors, corpses and wounded and blood flowing everywhere,” he said. “We are standing before inhumanity, real massacres, extraordinary weapons whose blasts we never heard before, never heard before ever, they make the ground shake beneath our feet.”

In Moscow, meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov slammed the United States and Britain for accusing Russia of “barbarism” and war crimes.

“We note the overall unacceptable tone and rhetoric of the representatives of the United Kingdom and the United States, which can damage and harm our relations,” Peskov told reporters.

At the security council meeting, Rycroft’s French counterpart, François Delattre, said the use of bunker-busters and incendiaries on urban residential areas was a war crime.

“They must not be unpunished,” he said. “Impunity is simply not an option in Syria.”…

If I were still in the Air Force... not sure what I'd do after that illegal attack supporting anti-anti-syrian troops.

" State Kerry threatens to suspend deal with Russia "

That's because Putin and the Syrian Army is very close to shutting down the US backed ISIS and Moderate Terrorists (paid mercenaries) hold on Aleppo.wink

Dr. Strangelove is alive and well ...

I have been a highly focused student of history my entire life -- particularly the history of modern wars, from the US Civil War to the present time. And I must say that, as I examine current conditions in our world and the rapidly escalating geopolitical conflicts between the current array of world powers, I am very deeply concerned that the world is sleepwalking into World War III. The western military/industrial/banking cabal -- the so-called Deep State -- appears, by all indications, to be deliberately setting the stage for conflict with Russia. Why? Can they really be so deluded; so consumed with blind hubris, that they sincerely believe they can overwhelm the Russians militarily; that they can, through force of arms, compel the Russians to submissively accept American hegemony? If so, I am convinced they are suffering from a degree of insanity that greatly exceeds the wild-eyed characters from Dr. Strangelove.

I fear for the world, for my country, and for my children and grandchildren.

Furthermore, I will go on the record right now with a prediction: if the American military does, indeed, provoke a war with Russia, Iran, and/or China, the first thing we will learn -- and we will learn it within days (if not hours) of the outbreak of hostilities -- is that the supposed crown jewel of American military might, the Nimitz-class fleet of "super-carriers", will be shown to be obsolete, highly vulnerable sitting ducks. I predict at least three of them will be destroyed within days -- in the South China Sea, in the Persian Gulf, and in the Mediterranean. There will probably also be other startling revelations that emerge from the first days/hours of any such conflict, but the most dramatic revelation will be that the super-carrier has been consigned to the same dustbin of military utility into which the battleship disappeared in the early days of World War II.

Thought...

I don't think a major percentage of the populace of the US is going to wake up to the importance of being involved and educated with respect to national and international affairs until there is another generation exposed to World War and the REAL personal loses that come with it, like millions of families losing Fathers, Sons and daughters to the insanity of world war. This would mean taking the minds of the US population from Monday Night Football and reality TV for awhile and I don't see that happening.

And I predict if a single carrier is sunk :

1) A coup d'etat against the commander and chump followed immediately by a 'Kadafizing'.  wink

2) Neither Red China nor Russia will have a naval port left....just a circular bay where they used to be.

3) Not a single Russian or Chinese satellite will remain in orbit.

4) Both Moscow and Beijing will look like Death Valley except less valley and more death.

5) The Suckutary of Stupid (Kerry) will be hanged by the privates 'till dead....and then shot.

6) NYC will not vote for Hildabeast because there won't be a NYC.

AlienEyes:

And I predict if a single carrier is sunk :

1) A coup d'etat against the commander and chump followed immediately by a 'Kadafizing'.  wink

Possible ... but irrelevant.

2) Neither Red China nor Russia will have a naval port left....just a circular bay where they used to be.

Perhaps ... but why do you think such a response would not be reciprocated? I assure you it would be. Mutually Assured Destruction was a potent deterrent to a nuclear strike during the Cold War. I am hopefully dubious that even the crazy neocons in Washington will plunge the entire world into nuclear winter to avenge the loss of an aircraft carrier.

3) Not a single Russian or Chinese satellite will remain in orbit.

Perhaps ... but both the Russians and the Chinese are entirely capable of reciprocating in kind.

4) Both Moscow and Beijing will look like Death Valley except less valley and more death.

Perhaps ... but (again) both the Russians and the Chinese are entirely capable of reciprocating in kind.

5) The Suckutary of Stupid (Kerry) will be hanged by the privates 'till dead....and then shot.

Possible ... but irrelevant.

6) NYC will not vote for Hildabeast because there won't be a NYC.

Perhaps ... but only if the US makes the insane decision to similarly attack Moscow and/or Beijing.

In any case, your reply eloquently underscores why making war against the Russians and/or Chinese is an absolutely insane proposition for the western Deep State to even contemplate, let alone actually undertake.

My point is simply that, if the US is foolish enough to start a war against either Russia or China, we will immediately learn that the US Navy's seemingly invincible carrier fleet is anything but, and has long since been rendered obsolete by modern anti-ship missile technologies -- even the relatively archaic anti-ship weapons possessed by less-potent militaries such as the Iranians and North Koreans. In that context, your reply actually constitutes a non sequitur, since everything you list as a possible consequence to the sinking of an aircraft carrier could just as well be asserted in a variety of other contexts. Does the US initiate global thermonuclear war on the basis of a lost carrier, or two, or three? A lost cruiser or destroyer? A submarine? The destruction of a half-dozen GPS or military communications satellites? A squadron of F/A 18s? Perhaps so ... but all these questions merely serve to emphasize the reality that making war with either Russia or China is simply not an option unless the real objective of the Deep State is to significantly depopulate the planet and set back human civilization by several centuries.
