We have posted these weekly discussions for over two years now...all because of our firm belief that we are living through the most dangerous period of Cold War since The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Recent events conform this analysis and John and Steve are here to explain why.

Here are some links that you may want to read and consider as you listen:

Please remain alert and on top of this situation by checking these podcasts every week.

This Is Insanity

The only way to stop this is to destroy Washington, London, Israel, and all the Neo-Cons. Or we'll all be dead.

Amazing that I could listen to this broadcast in its entirety. .

. . . and still post in the top five.

This is a truly dangerous situation we are facing. I lived thru the Cuban missile crisis as a 17 year-old high school senior. I can tell you that the mood among my classmates and all our families was very somber at the time. We felt there were better than even odds that there would be a nuclear war with Russia, with the attack on the U.S. coming from the missiles they had deployed in Cuba. Living in the Southeast we figured to be among the first to be hit.

In looking back now, my feeling is that war was averted because the two leaders involved (Kennedy and Krushchev) had both personally tasted the horrors of war. Krushchev, a “Hero of the Soviet Union” from his role in WWII, was a thug who thought he had sensed weakness in Kennedy during a previous meeting. Only when Kennedy, a real war hero in his own right, drew the “red line” with his naval embargo did Krushchev have the sense to back off.

In our present situation, we have two leaders who have never personally experienced war. One, a former KGB thug, has only known what it was like to execute an enemy of the state (bullet to the back of the head) or order the elimination of a political opponent. The other watches engagements from a secured room, much like a video game. We know what his red lines amount to. I’m guessing the other guy would enforce any line he might draw.

Neither side would relish a nuclear war. So, the next war in Europe, if it comes, will be fought on the ground. We should always stand strong to defend our allies against actual aggression. But, at a time we are cutting our offensive and defensive resources to their lowest levels in decades, we need to avoid needlessly antagonizing a man who would have no compunctions about sacrificing tens of thousands of his own troops to take out a few hundred of ours.

Putin and Russia

I just want to say that I have no bone to pick with Russia. The Neo-Cons on the other hand is another matter. Putin was an Intelligence Officer. He likely didn't pull the trigger on any dissenter. I would suggest looking up how many times Russia has been invaded over the centuries to get a better understanding of there point of view. Allowing the Neo-Cons to overthrow an elected Ukraine Government and replace it with a bunch of devout Nazi's might have me concerned if I was Russian. Apparently they have some History with Nazi's that some here don't appreciate. And I love it when people say Russia invaded the Ukraine. If Russia invaded the Ukraine, then why does Ukraine still exist ? This is a country that in 6 months helped the Syrian Government to fend off ISIS/DAESH what we couldn't do in 4 years ! So if people want to pick a fight with Russia go ahead. But I'm warning you. They've been invaded many many times over the centuries. And they're still here. Perhaps a little Diplomacy might help instead of sending Skull and Bonesman John "Ketchup" Kerry over to Vienna to threaten Russia on behalf of Israel.

Damn your eyes!

The '51 Chevy pickup and the '57 T-Bird are two of my most coveted vehicles.  If your '51 is one of those 3100 models with the wrap around rear-window, I'm really going to be pyst!

Picture(s) please?

@Chef and Willsilvaa

To Both of you:

Thank you, and...

Chef, et al:

You are certainly on the right track. Russia has been demonized because when Putin came to Power, the West had been raping Russia of its Natural Resources for years under Bush. Putin did not kowtow to threats and intimidation as the drunk Yeltzen had.

http://thesaker.is/what-does-putin-want-a-major-analysis-by-rostislav-ishchenko-must-read/ for one of the best summaries of the Ukraine crisis set in an historical framework..

The rest of the world does not view Putin as a “thug”; especially as he sits and answers questions extemporaneously put to him by a foreign press for three hours at a stretch.

Truth is truth.
