Immigration Crisis: Engineered Collapse? Or Opportunity?

So is this it? Is the engineered collapse finally starting?

With so much crazy news lately (VA scandal, outrageous Bergdahl swap, immigration crisis, Iraq falling), it seems that events are happening faster and faster.

Did you know that Russian bomber planes were just 50 yards off the California coast?

But the event that seems to be the possible trigger point is the United States allowing tens of thousands of children (and drug cartel members) across the border.

How can 35,000 swarming across Texas borders each month be sustainable? We can't even take care of our vets, but we can take care of a quarter of a million children without parents, kids who don't speak English, and who need to be in school, not stuck in detention camps?

The standard right/left spin is this: Republicans are freaking out, claiming that Democrats are doing this on purpose to get a "permanent majority." They worry that the new immigrants will all be pro-socialist and our free market system will be forever lost.

Take heart, conservatives: I think your paranoia over Hispanic immigrants is a bit over-the-top and shows the defeatist attitude you've allowed yourself to be programmed with. Hispanics aren't born with a "Vote Democrat" gene. If anything, they are much more socially conservative than the average white progressive, and not driven by white guilt or political correctness.

Most Hispanic immigrants work their butts off. I've dealt with Mexican workers for many years who have been handymen at various apartments I've lived at. They are polite, hard-working, no-nonsense, and grounded. They take pride in their work and are good at what they do. I don't see young white male hipsters doing these jobs.

Hispanics are culturally pro-family. The men are unabashedly masculine. (There's a reason why women swoon over the "Latin Lover" archetype.) I've dated a lot of Hispanic guys, and I personally think it's nice to have a guy insist on opening a door for you.

Democrats point to the low rate of Hispanics voting for Romney as somehow "proof" that they have the lock on the Hispanic vote, but c'mon, we're talking Romney here! Given the choice between Hillary Clinton and Ted Cruz, do you honestly think the average Latino is going to be pulling the lever for Hillary? Do you honestly think family-oriented, socially conservative Hispanics are going to be cheering the first transgendered family featured at the Democratic National Convention?

Mexican men (and a few women) have been busy forming their own militias to fight the drug cartels. These guys probably don't have the same knee-jerk reaction to gun control as the average white Democrat.

In short: Having more Hispanics in America (given a reasonable immigration policy) is certainly not the death knell of America, and the values of family, hard work, and God are totally in line with what conservatives want America to return to. If conservatives are concerned about Hispanic immigrants not understanding free markets, then teach them!

Hispanics are stereotyped by Democrats as being pro-big government when maybe it's not that simple: My apartment complex had to redo all the walkways to comply with ADA regulations for wheelchair access. Some of the solutions were absolutely ridiculous and involved labyrinths of criss-crossing ramps where a straight path had been previously. Two parking spaces per unit got hijacked for a handicapped spot - one for the car and a "no parking zone" next to the handicapped spot.

I was talking with one of the Hispanic workers who was painting the lines, and he commented to me about how silly the renovations were. "I don't agree with all of this," he said, waving his hand towards the "improvements." "But I just do my job."

We had a nice laugh.

The pretentious white progressive would have been waxing on and on about how great it was that now all the disabled people would have parking spots. (Never mind that no disabled people live in the building, or that the older woman who doesn't have the disabled placard now has to carry her groceries twice as far.)

I realize that was quite a long preface to discussing the current crisis, which is about how our Southern borders have basically collapsed (on purpose), and we're now looking at a Hurricane Katrina times a million in terms of a humanitarian crisis.

However, I think this could easily backfire - if the kids are left stuck in "camps" for months on end, with poor living conditions, then progressives might actually end up turning on Obama.

But maybe that doesn't matter. Maybe the elites have decided it's time to turn America into a third world country, and they just flipped the switch to start the process.

Still, I think they are underestimating the American spirit - and why Hispanics might want to come here in the first place. They did not come here to just see a repeat of the cronyism and corruption they fled from. If anything, they are like the average moderate American. They want safe neighborhoods, decent schools, and job opportunities.

I therefore buck the conservative hysteria by observing that Hispanics might actually bring more to the table than they take away. However, that means reaching out to recent immigrants as potential allies in the fight for freedom, instead of writing them off as hopeless patsies of the global elite.

Far too many conservatives have bought into the false right/left paradigm and mistakenly taken the bait offered by left-wing pundits. Frankly, I don't give a damn whether the dominant political party is called "Democrat" or "Republican" provided it offers sane, fiscally smart policies. Parties evolve. The Democratic Party used to be more moderate. it is now very far-left. The Republican Party is currently being taken over by libertarians and Tea Party advocates. Parties change.

If Hispanics become the dominant force in the Democratic Party, I predict that white progressives will eventually regret it - because "gay marriage" for example will no longer be a priority, and abortion and birth control may be totally taken out of the platform.

But I digress. The big problem in America is not that this party or that party is "winning," but that both parties have been corrupted. Progressives get their buttons pushed on issues like gun control and gender issues. Conservatives get their buttons pushed on issues like immigration. And the elites stay in control.

And while I'm not downplaying the severity of the current immigration crisis by any means - it could seriously take down the country quickly - we need to stop whining and start looking to create more allies. Each person who comes here from a corrupt, failing state is a person who might be open to learning about the empowering nature of self-sufficiency, the "why" behind precious metals, and the value of freedom.

Go out and talk to people and start your own revolution.
