How many times we get the same old rumors regurgitated out of the Ezero?  Whatever benron has to say 12/13 fomc it'll be sell the news or anti climatic.  Maybe a 4-5 trillion QE print.  Heaven knows he's ben handing off trillions under the table to primary dealers; probably the bulk of this hot money inflow DOW run.  The whole Santa rally looks like one big black magic last gasp of a collapsing system.  Dow still above 12K after the January effect, approx 1/20/2012, I'll believe bunrokio dead head feds still have control.  Looking ever so sketchy

Great content as always.  Drums beat louder - could you find yourself shackled to your Macbook trying to keep up and keep abreast with new threads for every topic?  Love what you do now where you comment on the main thread with any 'new' news you have come across (unless I've completely misunderstood you).

OK. Next up, a procedural/content question. As the war drums beat louder, I've caught myself paying closer and closer attention to the headlines of the day. I've noticed that between my prowling and the readers, we seem to stumble upon notable headlines earlier than many other "news" sites, including at times ZH. Shall I change our format a little? Currently, I create new threads only once/twice per day and those threads become "Main Street". What if I were to always make my main, PM posts "sticky" and yellow at the top of the page and then use the space below to start discussions on each new, relevant/scary headline I see? Would that be too much comment/content dilution? Let me know what you think.

The issue is more of "number of pages of comments". You don't want that to get more than, say, 10 pages max. Otherwise, you open it up and know that it'll take hours to read them all. Even 5 might be a good ballpark. The time it gets there depends on the popularity of the post, of course, but if I was you I would base my posting cycle on that.

As far as the idea of changing the format up a bit to include a "Sticky" post re PM's above all the other news centric posts - I, for one, like the idea. I know some folks say they don't want the Main Street area to include anything other than PM info - But - I believe these news issues we are talking about (certainly the potential conflicts in the MENA area) are absolutely pivotal to the economy and ultimately to Gold and Silver.

News is changing frequently hour by hour and Turdville certainly seems to be one of the best places to go and get a quick up-to-the-minute view of what's happening.

Regarding news content and the amount that is generated  on here. I can crank it out at times and have held back at times also. (everyone's eye's just rolled there)  I hear ya'.

I was going to start a news thread this weekend and maybe you just provided the bump. I'll  do so later and post the thread here.  Maybe it will help consolidate the news a bit and let me be the newsie I am.  I like doing it.

I think you may find things will get too splintered if there are 5 threads a day with people posting in each. I'd hate to miss a good post because I didn't get to that one blasted news thread. When there is more news than usual, just paste links as you have been, or maybe have a separate place as some have suggested. Just my 2 cents...

i think you do a great job working headlines into your post.  and there are many awesome folks here that do great service to us all by posting what's going on in the crazy world.

If the news is collated in some way on the front page and discussed then we are going to have more tangents than a bubble chamber.

I say let it be.  Nothing in the ether gets past our collective eyes and ears for long and the offer of DPH for a news thread seems to  be the best of both worlds. 

Though as events unfold who knows how the site will evolve. There might be a post 'big event' world where, if the Net is still on, we need to talk exclusively about bacon!

I've been eyeing FSG like hawk expecting gold to decouple from the ES like a mofo, but it's been range bound for months. At lest if it does in the next week it has some good upside potential.

Just my twopenneth for what it's worth - would it be possible to have either threading in the comments or maybe some way of displaying comments by the number of hat tips? 

Or just keep the site as is - it is by the far the best I read in terms of both main content and comments.

Speaking of Turd-related products, I've been chatting with Moderator Jane after she asked for some BTFD t-shirts. I've gone ahead and printed a batch up and am now taking orders here.

These are printed and shipped from the UK. I checked with the Post Office and the last day they gave me for pre-Christmas postage to North America is this Friday. Which means I can only only guarantee delivery to the US and Canada in time for Santa if orders are placed in the next 24hrs (23:00 GMT). Sorry for the short notice on that front but there's nothing I can do about it. Later orders may still get through in time, who knows, but to be sure for Christmas delivery (according to the Post Office) they need the goods on Friday and I need time to print and pack them.

UK deliveries have probably got another week to order in time for Christmas.

If you missed out on the yellow hat deal, one of these could be a good alternative :o)

I've been to busy to follow the metals closely this week but just checked now and seems like they had a nice steady day. Reclaimed yesterday's losses nicely. anyone thinking we might have an end of year rally, or is that just the booze talking?
